1. O Prescan amp Colour Matching E Edge Emphasis Black amp White Ce Cee Coa Ce Using the Scanner 97 Note gt 6 Scanning an Image 2 After the scanning holder with the original is ejected from the paper out put tray the prescanned image is displayed Make sure that the image is properly placed in the scanning area To scan only a portion of the entire image drag the mouse to specify the portion Follow the procedure below 1 Point to a corner of the rectangle for the area on the image you want to select 2 Drag the mouse to the opposite corner of the rectangle 3 Release the mouse button The specified rectangle appears on the image Drag the mouse To change the portion you specified place the mouse pointer within the portion and drag the mouse to the desired position e To cancel the portion you specified follow the procedure below Using the Scanner 98 Scanning an Image Right click the image The rectangle disappears and you can specify the REN portion of the image again Venn While pressing the Control key click on the image The rectangle disap pears and you can specify the portion of the image again Load the original in the auto sheet feeder again Make sure the original does not move in the scanning holder 8 Click Scan in the dialogue box After the scanning holder is ejected from the paper output tray the scanned image is displayed Note gt e When y

19. ensure that each new ink tank is inserted in the correct slot If you insert an ink tank in the wrong slot colours will not print correctly e To avoid interfering with the ink supply from a tank never touch the open ink port on an ink tank Routine Maintenance 117 Replacing Ink Tanks 2 Toremove the empty ink tank press in on the tab on the ink tank to release and pull it out of the slot Do not remove the BJ Cartridge Leave the BJ Cartridge installed in the printer and remove only the ink tank s Note gt Discard empty ink tanks according to the local laws and regulations regard ing disposal of consumables Important gt To avoid staining your hands clothing or areas of the work site do not shake or drop ink tanks Routine Maintenance 118 Replacing Ink Tanks 3 Remove the new ink tank from its package Pull the orange tape up and against the perforations to open the packing film Important Remove the film carefully so you do not remove the label from the ink tank The label is needed to match the ink tank with the correct slot of the BJ Cartridge e Remove the film by pulling on the orange tape Do not attempt to remove the film before you remove the orange tape Routine Maintenance 119 Replacing Ink Tanks 4 Grip the bottom of the ink tank and twist off the orange protective cap in the direction of the arrow Protective cap To prevent spilling ink never press this side of the ink tank
