Technical Bulletin Bulletin No TCH 001 048 Effective Date 8 1 02 Cancels NA Subject DuraFlo 596 Compressor Requirements The Bendix Duraflo 596 Compressor has two features that we recommend be considered carefully when maintenance is performed The DF 596 is designed to be naturally aspirated unlike many compressors that use turbo supplied air Also the DF 596 uses an Energy Saving System ESS unloader that requires a D 2 governor and an SV 1 synchro valve for correct operation Improperly configured systems may result in damage to the compressor unloader Damages caused by incorrect installation or non naturally aspirated applications are not covered under the warranty policy For ease of maintenance Bendix provides a module for compressor mount or remote mount applications with the special D 2 governor and SV 1 that the DuraFlo 596 requires If making individual repairs to the D 2 or SV 1 use only genuine Bendix parts Replacement Parts Page 1 of 1 Figure 1 DuraFlo 596 Piece Number Description 5007404 D 2 SV 1 module with braided hoses for compressor mount or remote mount locations 5007116 D 2 SV 1 module with plastic hoses for remote mount locations 109662 D 2 Non standard governor used for DF 596 110 psi to 130 psi pressure range 5005365 SV 1 high durability model is used for this application AIR DRYER AIR DRYER PURGE CONTROL DURAFLO 596 PORT COMPRESSOR RECEIVE AIR SUPPLY RESERVOIR FIRST RESER2.
