Caution Electrostatic discharge can damage hardware You must wear the antistatic wrist strap on your arm whenever you handle printed circuit boards Refer to the instructions enclosed wtih your antistatic wrist strap to attach it 2 Remove the power supply filler panel For instructions see Removing and Installing a Power Supply Filler Panel on page 14 3 Grasp the handle and push the power supply into the slot along the side guides and gently insert the supply Figure 4 10 Captive screw FBR0009A Figure 4 Removing or Installing a Power Supply 4 Using a flat tip screwdriver tighten the captive screw until the power supply is seated firmly 11 When you insert an operational second power supply into the Passport 5430 with the power on the PS2 LED on the system processor module turns on At the same time the Passport 5430 automatically redistributes the load between the two power supplies 5 Connect to the AC power source For instructions see Connecting to the AC Power Source on page 17 6 Turnon the power supply power switch Replacing a Power Supply To replace a power supply Caution To maintain proper cooling never operate the Pass port 5430 with an empty power supply slot If you are replac ing a failed second power supply and you do not have a power filler panel leave the fail

Installing a Power Supply Filler Panel Nortel Networks ships the Passport 5430 with a filler panel in the power supply slot reserved for the second power supply Before you can install a second power supply you must remove the power supply filler panel for instructions see the next section Removing a Power Supply Filler Panel If you remove a power supply from the Passport 5430 without replacing it you must install a power filler panel to maintain the proper cooling airflow For instructions see Installing a Power Supply Filler Panel on page 16 Removing a Power Supply Filler Panel To remove a power supply filler panel 1 Using a flat tip screwdriver loosen the captive screw that fastens the power supply filler panel to the chassis until the filler panel disengages Figure 5 14 Figure 5 Removing a Power Supply Filler Panel FBR0059A 2 Pull the power supply filler panel away from the Passport 5430 Caution To maintain proper cooling never operate the Pass port 5430 with an empty power supply slot Save the filler panel to cover the slot in case you need to operate the Passport 5430 with a power supply removed Installing a Power Supply Filler Panel If you remove a power supply from the Passport 5430 without replacing it you must install a power supply filler panel to maintain the proper cooling airflow To install a power supply fill

16. ed power supply installed until a replacement power supply is available 1 Turn off the power switch on the power supply you are replacing 12 2 Put on an antistatic wrist strap Caution Electrostatic discharge can damage hardware You must wear the antistatic wrist strap on your arm whenever you handle printed circuit boards Refer to the instructions enclosed with your antistatic wrist strap to attach it 3 Disconnect the power cable from the power connector on the power supply 4 Using a flat tip screwdriver loosen the captive screw that fastens the power supply to the chassis until the power supply disengages Figure 4 5 Grasp the handle and using both hands pull the power supply out of the Passport 5430 You can remove an operational power supply without affecting the operation of the Passport 5430 When you remove a power supply the associated LED PS1 or PS2 on the system processor module turns off and the Passport 5430 automatically redistributes the load to the remaining power supply 6 Grasping the handle guide the replacement power supply into the slot along the side guides and gently insert the supply see Figure 4 on page 11 7 Using a flat tip screwdriver tighten the captive screw until the power supply is seated firmly 8 Connect to the AC power source For instructions see Connecting to the AC Power Source on page 17 9 Turnon the power supply power switch Removing and

21. icensee s facility provided they have agreed to use the Software only in accordance with the terms of this license 3 Limited warranty Nortel Networks warrants each item of Software as delivered by Nortel Networks and properly installed and operated on Nortel Networks hardware or other equipment it is originally licensed for to function substantially as described in its accompanying user manual during its warranty period which begins on the date Software is first shipped to Licensee If any item of Software fails to so function during its warranty period as the sole remedy Nortel Networks will at its discretion provide a suitable fix patch or workaround for the problem that may be included in a future Software release Nortel Networks further warrants to Licensee that the media on which the Software is provided will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for a period of 90 days from the date Software is first shipped to Licensee Nortel Networks will replace defective media at no charge if it is returned to Nortel Networks during the warranty period along with proof of the date of shipment This warranty does not apply if the media has been damaged as a result of accident misuse or abuse The Licensee assumes all responsibility for selection of the Software to achieve Licensee s intended results and for the installation use and results obtained from the Software Nortel Networks does not warrant a that the functions
