A You must install the harcimere before installing the modem drivers Installing the Harcihare 1 Inst the instdlation CD ROM Turn off and unplug the computer and dl peripherds Open the computer cas and discharge my static dectridty by grounding yoursaf touch the power supply amp c or weer a grounding strap l Bit ISA Shot 2 Cardully insat and secure the modem into an open PCI dot and dose the compute 3 Connect the modem Line input to an andog phone jack using an RJ 11 phone cable provid ed Optiondly connect atdephone to the Phone input on the modem card Reconnect the peripherds and tart the compute 1 Upon darting the Add New H adware Wizard didog box will aopear Click Neck 2 Sdect the option Search for the best driver for your device Recommended and dick Net 3 Sdectt CD ROM drive Inst the CD ROM if you have not dready and dick the Net 4 The Add New H adware Wizard dialog box will digolay H SP56 M icroM odent and location of driver Click Nex and then dick Finish 5 The Add New H adware Wizard didog box will search for Wave Device for Voice Modem driver Click Net 6 Sdect Search for the best driver for you device Recommended Sdect CD ROM drive and then dick Net 7 The Add New H adware Wizard didog box will digolay PCTd Seid Wave Device and locetion of the driver Clidk Next and then Finish Windows 2000 1 Upon darting the Found New H adware Wizard dido2. X WINXP MDMCHIPV INF X D ROM drive and dick Ne Click Finish You may use the modem without restarting the computer Verificetion of the instdlation is available by looking up Modems under the Device M anager You will see H SP56 MicoModem
3. g box will aopear Click Ned amp 2 Sdect Search for the best driver for your device and dick Net 3 Sdet CD ROM drive Inset the CD ROM if you have not dready and dik Nex 4 Click Next and then dick Finish to compiee the instalation Windows ME 1 Upon darting the Add New H adware Wizard didog box will aopear Insert the modernis instdlation CD ROM if you have not done so dreedy 2 Sdect the Specify the location of the driver Advanced and dick Next 3 Sdect Search for the best driver for you device Recommended and put a check mark on specify location and only then dick Browse button 4 Scroll and locate the CD ROM drive and double dick it to expose the WIN ME folde 5 Sdect the WIN ME folder then dick OK 6 The Add New H adware Wizard dialog box will show the correct directory and location of the driver Clidk Nee twice and then dick Finish 7 Sdect the option laoded Automatic search for a better driver Recommended Click Net and then dick Finish Windows XP 1 Upon starting Windows XP will automaticaly install the native driver for the modem 2 TO update the drive open the Device M mage and double dick Moders 3 Double dick H SP56 World MicroModem 3 Click the Drive tab then dick the Update Driver button 4 Sdect Install the software automatically Recommended then dick Net 5 The H adware Update Wizard will digolay list of drivers 6 Sdect
