1. 10 seconds 5 Turn the ignition key to the Crank position then turn the key off Repeat this procedure 1 more time and the engine will start Note 1 For vehicles with manual transmission you must depress the clutch while performing the Emergency Override procedure Note 2 Once disarmed follow the procedure on Page 4 to put the unit into the Valet Mode until your transmitter is replaced or repaired Note 3 Vehicles with Power Sentinel feature when you turn off the ignition the radio stays on until you open door and then it turns off will require that the driver s door be open when the override procedure is performed System Maintenance The only maintenance that your Silencer vehicle immobilizer requires is a periodic check to insure that all operations are functioning normally This is also good practice for you to refresh your mem ory on Emergency Override and Valet Mode procedures 1 Button and 3 Button Manual Disarm Transmitters The battery supplied with the 1 button and 3 button transmitters has an average life of 1 year Heavy transmitter usage will reduce battery life Reduced transmitter range is usually an indica tion that the battery is becoming weak and should be replaced Transmitters that are not in use should have the battery removed 1 Button Automatic Disarm Transmitter The battery supplied with the 1 button automatic disarm transmitter has an average life of 1 year When the battery in this tr

Mode follow these steps 1 Press the button on your transmitter to insure the device is disarmed you will hear 2 beeps 2 Within 3 seconds of pressing the button turn ignition On Off 3 times and wait 5 seconds Turn the ignition On Off 3 more times The device will emit 3 long beeps to indicate the Valet Mode is To exit the Valet Mode turn the ignition On Off 3 times and wait 5 seconds Turn the ignition On Off 3 more times The device will emit 1 long beep to indicate the valet mode is Off Note To enter or exit the valet mode some vehicles will require the engine to be started then stopped instead of just turning the ignition on and off to provide the correct programming signal to the Silencer unit Emergency Override There may come a time when it will be necessary to manually disarm your Silencer system without using your transmitter This condition occurs if the your transmitter battery is low dead or if your transmitter becomes damaged or lost Under these circumstances it will be necessary to use your ignition key to perform the emergency override procedure to get your vehicle operational Repeat the procedure below to perform the emergency override function 1 Turn the ignition key to the Crank position then turn the key off Repeat this procedure 1 more time 2 Wait for 10 seconds 3 Turn the ignition key to the Crank position then turn the key off Repeat this procedure 1 more time 4 Wait for
3. the transmitter Press and release the center of the button and watch the flash sequence of the LED The transmitter operating mode can be changed at any time by following Steps 1 3 Confirm the mode by following Step 4 Valet Mode 3 Button Transmitter The Valet Mode allows you to temporarily turn off the passive arming function eliminating the need to give your transmitter to a parking attendant or garage mechanic To enter the Valet Mode follow these steps 1 Press the Disarm button on your transmitter to insure the device is disarmed you will hear 2 beeps 2 Within 3 seconds of pressing the disarm button press and release the Valet On button 3 times slowly The device will emit 3 long beeps to indicate the Valet Mode is On 3 Within 30 seconds start the vehicle s engine and then shut it off to secure the Valet Mode If this step is not completed the Silencer unit will become armed and your transmitters will not function If this happens follow the Emergency Override procedure on page 5 to disarm your system To exit the Valet Mode follow these steps 1 Press the Disarm button on your transmitter you will not hear any beeps 2 Within 3 seconds of pressing the disarm button press and release the Valet Off button 3 times slowly The device will emit 1 long beep to indicate the Valet Mode is Off 1 Button Transmitter Includes Automatic Disarm Transmitter To enter the Valet

5. 7 SILENCER S ECUR SYS TEMS OWNER S MANUAL Model 8900 Series Vehicle Immobilizer This device complies with part 15 of the FCC rules Operation is subject to the following two conditions 1 This device may not cause harmful interference and 2 This device must accept any interference received including interference that may cause undesired operation Note The manufacturer is not responsible for any radio or TV interference caused by unauthorized modifications to this equipment Such modifications could void the user s authority to operate the equipment Silencer products have been designed to provide the consumer with years of trouble free operation This manual will provide reference for the operation and maintenance of your new Silencer vehicle immobilizer system Please take a moment to read this manual so you will be familiar with the oper ation of your new system GHO ISILENCER ww 1 Button Automatic 3 Button Transmitter 1 Button Transmitter Disarm Transmitter Note Depending on the type of consumer transmitter package your dealer provided you with you may have each one of the transmitters pictured above or two of the same type transmitter Confirm this with your dealer Automatic Arming you have turned the ignition key to the Off position your Silencer engine immobilizer will become armed within 30 seconds Upon arming the device will emit 1 soft chirp Restarting
6. ansmitter becomes weak the automatic disarm function will stop oper ating and you will be required to press the transmitter button to manually disarm your system Loss of the automatic disarm function indicates that the battery is low and must be replaced soon Note When the automatic disarm transmitter function changes to manual mode each time you press the transmitter button the transmitter LED will flash 2 times Battery Replacement To replace or remove the batteries for storage in your transmitter follow these steps 1 Turn the transmitter over and locate the slot at the edge of the transmitter case 2 Use a small flathead screwdriver to pry apart the top and bottom case of the transmitter while keeping the button side facing downward 3 Once the back is completely removed press on the button face to remove the entire transmit ter assembly from the case 4 Separate the transmitter circuit board from the rubber button case and slide the old battery out of it s holder 5 Replace the battery in reverse sequence observing the correct polarity of the battery battery side should be facing upward 6 3 Button and 1 Button Transmitters The 3 volt battery for these transmitters is model CR2032 1 Button Automatic Disarm Transmitter The 3 volt battery for this transmitter is model CR2450 3 Year Warranty Your new Silencer Security Systems is warranted to be free of defects for 3 years Silencer or its authorized agents will
7. orm a manual disarm Radio Frequency RF Protection Rearm Timer Each time the system is disarmed using the transmitter the device will begin a protection mode countdown This is a timed secondary protection mode If you do not start your vehicle within 60 seconds your Silencer system will become rearmed and your engine will become disabled again Note If your system operates from a Automatic Disarm Transmitter the 60 second RF protection timer will not time out and will rearm your system if you remain within 60 feet of your vehicle 1 Button Automatic Transmitter Mode Programming If your transmitter package contains one or more of the 1 button automatic disarm transmitters the default operating mode will be Manual Mode to preserve the battery life while not in use To change the operating mode to Automatic Mode follow these steps 1 Press the middle area of the button and hold it down until the LED light on the side of the but ton becomes solid red Release the button Note The LED may flash Continue holding the button until the flashing stops and the LED becomes solid red Press and release the center of the button 3 times You will notice that the red LED light will be off Press and hold the center of the button until the LED flashes Release the button 3 flashes The transmitter is in Automatic Disarm mode 1 flash The transmitter is in Manual Disarm mode Confirm the mode of
