Welcome to your BT Duet 60 Corded Telephone With Caller Display you can see who s calling before you pick up the phone Keep track of your calls with the 99 number calls list Store up to 13 numbers in the memory for quick and easy dialling With Call Waiting when you are already on a call and another caller is trying to get through the call waiting beep will sound to alert you 1571 Message Waiting allows your callers to leave a voicemail message which you can play back at the touch of a button To use these features you must subscribe to the relevant Service from your network provider A quarterly fee may be payable BI Duet 60 Edition 06 04 02 04 5 20 Getting started Inserting the batteries Please note Your BT Duet 60 is not supplied with batteries However you will require batteries to be able to use the Caller Display feature on your phone Lift off the battery compartment cover by pulling back the plastic latch Insert 3 x AA alkaline batteries not supplied according to the polarity markings inside the battery compartment Replace the battery cover Battery low When the batteries are low and need replacing the PEN icon will be displayed WARNING When replacing the batteries you must install 3 x new AA alkaline batteries within 1 minute of removing the old batteries or you risk losing all your Caller Display and memory information Connecting the handset a

Waiting service from your network provider When you are on a call and another caller is trying to get through the Call Waiting beep will sound to alert you Press to put your current call on hold and accept the waiting call Press CD again to alternate between the two calls 1571 Message Waiting Please note To use this feature you must subscribe to BT Answer 1571 or an equivalent answering service from your network provider If a caller is trying to get through and the line is busy their call will be forwarded to a mail box where they can leave a message The 1571 Message Waiting indicator will then flash to alert you to the waiting message s To access your message s Press Your call will be put through to the mailbox and your message s played back to you via the handset earpiece Replace the handset to end the call After a few seconds the 1571 light will stop flashing BI Duet 60 Edition 06 04 02 04 5 20 Memory Storing memory numbers You can store up to 15 numbers in your phone s memory for guick and easy dialling 3 numbers can be stored in the one touch memory and 10 numbers in the guickdial memory Stored numbers can be up to 16 digits Pick up the handset and press BD Enter the telephone number you want to store The number is shown on the display on the back of the handset for checking Only the last 13 digits of the telephone number will be displayed Pre

8. ller s number on your handset s display before you answer the call Caller information not available Occasionally the telephone number of the caller is not available and cannot therefore be displayed In this case your display will show one of the following explanatory messages HO HUMBER WITHHELD UNAVAILABLE Calls list Whether you answer a call or not the caller s phone number is stored in the calls list Up to 99 numbers can be stored and when the calls list is full a new call replaces the oldest Each stored number can be up to 14 digits long When you have new entries in the calls list the NEW icon will be displayed and the New Call indicator will flash green The Calls counter displays the total number of stored calls as well as the number of new calls View calls list numbers Press or Bp repeatedly to open the calls list and then scroll through the entries For each entry the caller s number and date and time of call are displayed If the RPT icon is displayed you have received multiple new calls from the same number The number will only appear once in the calls list with the most recent call date and time When all new calls have been viewed EHD OF LIST will be displayed the New Call indicator will stop flashing and the NEW icon will disappear 11 BI Duet 60 Edition 06 04 02 04 5 20 Using the calls list Once you have viewed all new calls press Ep to review the most
9. nd line cords Plug one end of the handset cord into the handset socket and the other end into the socket at the end of the base Plug the telephone line cord into the socket on the bottom of the base Plug the other end into the telephone wall socket To use the phone on a desk Thread the telephone line cord through the groove toward the back of the base To wall mount your phone Refer to page 15 of this guide BI Duet 60 Edition 06 04 02 04 5 20 Getting started Setting the display contrast There are 4 display contrast settings to choose from The default setting is 2 The contrast can be re adjusted at a later stage by repeating these steps Press and hold By for 4 seconds The display shows LET COHTRAST Press to decrease or By to increase the contrast level Press EM to confirm The display now prompts you to set the time and date Setting the time and date Auto set time and date If you have already subscribed to a Caller Display service the time and date will be automatically set when you receive your first call The current hour flashes in the display Use d and E to set the correct hour then press EM to confirm Now use f and E to set the correct minute and press J to confirm Use and Bp again to set the correct month then press H And finally use f and E to set the correct day and press E to confirm The display returns to idle and the correct
