1. Card Before the installation of the controller card let us make the following assumptions 1 The end users must have the basic knowledge of installing a device and its driver toa notebook If they are not sure about their abilities or have any queries please call their local dealers immediately or find somebody who is experienced and qualified for assistance 2 The notebook has been properly installed with our supported Windows operating system Installing the controller card into the notebook 1 Insert the controller card into an empty ExpressCard 54mm slot As the card supports Hot Plug function it could be inserted into the ExpressCard 54mm slot while notebook is in power on or power off condition 2 When the card is detected the OS will ask for the software driver To install the software driver read the next section oo Connect the external SATA SATA II devices with the eSATA cables to the output ports of the controller card external devices and cables are not included in this package 4 If the external hard disks installed are blank do not forget to set partition and format them before use Installing Windows driver for the controller card 1 Once Windows is running a new controller card is detected 2 Insert the Drivers amp Utility CD into the CDROM assume drive D 3 When Windows ask for the driver for the new controller card browse to the following folder D Silicon_Image SIL3132 Windows 4 Press OK to2.
