1. 3. so no steam for the backstroke so reclosing the fibres preventing oversteaming and wet ness 3b 4b 5b In order to have a continuous steam jet move the continuous steam jet button 10a forwards Steam will keep on coming out even if you release the button To stop the steam flow move the continuous steam jet button 10a backwards fig 9 By turning the steam flow control knob 6 you can vary the amount of steam accor ding to the type of textile to be ironed more or less delicate You can use this control to increase the steam flow by tur ning in anti clockwise direction Turning the control in a clockwise direction redu ces the steam flow fig 10 When there is no more steam to release the water level light will come on 4 See 30 the patented safety cap Water out pa ragraph 6b The appliance is equipped with a rigid iron rest mat 11 fig 11 which can be remo ved and put elsewhere if required NOTE The steam pressure indicator 5 may go on and off from time to time during use of Vaporella This means the machine is maintaining the correct and constant pres sure and is quite normal If no steam is released from the iron check the following the steam pressure indicator 5 is off there is water in the boiler the steam regulation knob 6 is set to one of the Steam settings VAPORELLA SUPER PRO PATENTED SAFETY CAP WATER OUT This appliance is equipp
4. and MAKE SURE the rubber gasket is in place around the base of the screw thread Replace with original spare parts if neces sary DO NOT USE STEAM FUNCTION if the rubber gasket is not in position If you iron sitting down do not place your legs under the ironing board the steam can cause burns Iron only on heat resistant surfaces and on surfaces that allow the steam to escape e g mesh ironing boards For iron rest replacement use only original spare parts e The iron must be used and rested on a sta ble surface e When placing the iron on its stand make sure that the surface on which the stand is placed is stable e Check that the continuous steam request button is switched off before connecting the appliance to the mains e This appliance is not intended for use by persons including children with reduced physical sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision or in struction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety e Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance e The appliance must not be used if it has fallen been dropped or when it has visible signs of damage or leaks IMPORTANT Before leaving our factory all our products are rigorously tested For this reason your Vapo rella may contain a small quantity of remai ning water in the tank CORRECT USE OF THE PR

6. contribute to limescale build up in the tank To avoid these problems it is neces sary to swill out with tapwater and empty the generator tank after every 3 or 4 uses In hard water areas we recommend the use of KALSTOP a special natural base decalcifier which inhibits and breaks down limescale making it easy to remove just by swilling out the tank with a little tapwater This is a preventive against lime scale build up and protects the metal walls of the steam generator tank KALSTOP is availa ble from Polti dealers or by mail order from your Polti Service Centre Never use distilled water or scented wa ter We recommend you use original Polti products only as products of other brands may not be suitable for use in Polti products and could cause damage Do not try to unscrew the safety cap or empty the appliance whilst water in the boi ler is still hot Do not refill the boiler while it is still hot Al low it to cool for a good few minutes before refilling Do not open the safety cap while the apl liance is ON When REFILLING the generator boiler use HOT not cold water Pour in gradually and gently at first and keep your face and other exposed skin well away Otherwise the still hot boiler walls may spit drops of very hot water or steam spray Make sure the patented safety cap is fully and correctly screwed on otherwise you may experience steam escaping from 28 around the cap e Check periodically the safety cap
7. ed with the unique Polti patented safety cap which prevents opening of the generator tank as long as there is any pressure remaining inside the tank This is an important and indispensable safety device and it is necessary to follow certain procedures when re filling the tank Lack of water is indicated by the out of water indicator light 4 which goes on When you have used up all the water in the tank do as follows 1d Switch off the Illuminated generator switch 2 2d Press the steam request button on the iron 10 so as to fully exhaust the steam supply from the tank Switch off the Illuminated iron switch 3 Disconnect the power supply cable from the mains Unscrew anti clockwise the patented sa fety cap 1 Wait for a few minutes to allow the gene rator tank to cool down WHEN COOL proceed to carefully refill the tank as described in paragraph 1a of the section PREPARATION FOR USE in the instructions If refilling the generator when not completely cooled we recom mend that you carefully pour only very small quantities of water at each pouring into the tank so as to avoid spitting from the tank 3d 4d 5d 6d 7d 31 CARE OF YOUR VAPORELLA Before attempting any maintenance operation make sure to always discon nect the appliance from the mains To clean the body of the appliance simply use a moist cloth Do not use solvents or detergents which may harm the body ma t

9. erial e Rinse the boiler every 2 months with clear water the washing traces will be brown showing the proper functioning of the de calcifier In case of very encrusted boiler proceed in the following way leave only 0 5 liter water in the boiler add 5 KALSTOP FP2003 doses when the boiler is under pressure press the steam request button until the steam is exhausted rinse the boi ler to eliminate all limescale residues When the boiler is clean proceed as nor mal ENGLISH
10. ined steam iron flex 8 into the support fig 2 Unscrew the patented safety cap 1 and fill the boiler with about 1 3 litres of water using the special funnel 15 making sure that it does not overflow fig 3 Normal tapwater can be used However as hard water by its nature contains lime stone which may cause a build up of li 2a 3a 29 mescale in the tank in hard water areas we recommend the use of our natural base decalcifier KALSTOP FP 2003 Never use distilled water or scented water We recommend you use original Polti products only as products of other brands may not be suitable for use in Polti products and could cause da mage Retighten the cap fully and carefully EMake the patented safety cap 1 is fully and correctly screwed on otherwise you may experience steam escaping from around the cap Insert the removable supply cable plug into the built in socket on the appliance fig 4 Plug the appliance into an earthed power supply of the correct voltage fig 5 IMPORTANT always make sure that the continuous steam jet switch 10a is not switched on Switch on the boiler and iron by pressing the switches 2 and 3 The pressure in dicator light 5 will light up fig 6 4a 5a INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE Check the manufacturer s label on the gar ment and interpret the symbol on the label as follows Steam ironing allowed For dry ironing set thermostat on S
