5. 1 Basic Setup and Operation 19 Using the TV with a Personal Computer Connecting a Computer to the TV Use one of the connection methods listed below based on your computer s video output Computer Audio Video Connection Connection Analog audio cable with mini plugs Video Output Digital DVI DVI to HDMI cable or an HDMI cable with a DVI to HDMI adapter HDMI HDMI to HDMI No additional cable audio connec tion is required IMPORTANT This TV accepts digital computer video signals only This TV is not compatible with VGA analog computer video 1 Connect the computer s digital signal output to one of the TV s HDMI jacks See the connection dia grams for the method suited to your equipment 2 Connect the computer s audio output using one of these options e For digital DVI video signals connect the analog audio output to the TV s DVI PC AUDIO INPUT jack e For HDMI signals no additional audio connec tion is required Note If you are unable to hear audio from the computer there may be an incompatibility in the computer s hardware software or internal settings Consult a trained computer technician for advice 3 Power onthe TV and computer The TV will detect the connection and display the New Device Found screen 4 Inthe New Device Found screen press A to highlight PC in the list of device types It is impor tant to use the name PC so that the TV p

Appendix E Troubleshooting TV Reset Comparison Guide You can resolve many common TV problems using the reset functions described in the following table See also the troubleshooting suggestions later in this appendix IMPORTANT Before you change sound or picture settings If Appendices 85 channel a channel from the ANT input a cable box or satellite receiver first check other channels from the same input before changing settings If most other channels from the same input seem correct there is likely a problem with the broadcast rather than with the TV Use care in this case as changes you make to fix problems on individual channels also affect all other picture or sound settings seem wrong for a broadcast Reset Name PerfectColor PerfecTint Reset 265 Series for the single input currently being watched A V Memory Reset for the single current input When to Use If the picture shape aspect ratio seems incorrect use the FORMAT key to change the shape of the picture When the color intensities seem out of balance use the PerfectColor PerfecTint reset to reset the color balances to the original factory settings Both PerfectColor and PerfecTint are reset at the same time When audio and or video settings for a single input seem incorrect use A V Memory Reset to return the input to the original factory settings Service and Customer Support Service If you a
