2. in a wet basement near a swimming pool or anywhere else that water or moisture are present Clean only with a dry cloth and as directed by Bose Corporation Unplug this product from the wall outlet before cleaning Do not block any ventilation openings Install in accor dance with the manufacturer s instructions To ensure reliable operation of the product and to protect it from overheating put the product in a position and location that will not interfere with its proper ventilation For example do not place the product on a bed sofa or similar surface that may block the ventilation openings Do not put it in a built in system such as a bookcase or a cabinet that may keep air from flowing through its ventilation openings Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators heat registers stoves or other apparatus including amplifiers that produce heat Only use attachments accessories specified by the manufacturer Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs convenience recepta cles and the point where they exit from the apparatus Use only with the cart stand tripod bracket or table specified by the man ufacturer or sold with the apparatus When a cart is used use caution when moving the cart apparatus combina tion to avoid injury from tip over LALIT Unplug this apparatus during light ning storms or when unused for long periods of time to prevent damage to this
3. iPhone display If you need to upgrade simply visit the Apple website www apple com and follow the instructions there for a free download EXPERIENCE THE SOUND Using the system Figure 5 Volume controls and iPod Phone dock Your SoundDock digital music system is ready to go as soon as you plug it in Simply set your iPod iPhone to play what you want and insert it into the dock on the front of the system Figure 5 and volume controls e You should hear the music immediately If you do not refer to Reference on page 10 e The and buttons on either side of the dock above allow you to adjust the system volume e Whenever your iPod iPhone is docked in the system it recharges until fully charged J Note When earphones are plugged into your iPod iPhone sound comes from both the ear BOSE Off Pil JD phones and the system Taking control Use the remote to control the sound as you move around the room e Press o once to turn off your iPod iPhone It continues charging while in the dock e Turn on your iPod iPhone and press to adjust the system volume Press and hold for faster adjustment e Press m once to return to the beginning of the current track or twice to skip to the beginning of the previous track Press and hold to scan backward quickly through a track e Press once to skip to the next track Press and hold to scan forward qui

5. the symbol on the small connector is matched to the one on the back of the SoundDock system Refer to Figure 4 on page 6 Make sure your iPod iPhone is firmly seated in the dock Remove your iPod iPhone from the dock wait 5 seconds and return it to the dock Unplug the power cable for 1 minute then plug it back in This resets the system Remove your iPod iPhonefrom the dock wait briefly then reseat it You may need to do this a few times Try the remote from a different location If it works there strong lighting or other room con ditions may be causing the problem Make sure nothing blocks the infrared IR signal path from the remote to your SoundDock system Wipe off the small lens on the front end of the remote Check the battery to make sure the side is up as shown in Figure 6 on page 8 Replace the remote control battery Make sure your iPod iPhone is running compatible software refer to To check for iPod iPhone compatibility on page 6 Unplug the power cable for 1 minute then plug it back in This resets the system Contact Bose Customer Service about the problem REFERENCE een IPod compatibility If your iPod has four buttons above the touch wheel 3rd generation with dock connector it is not compatible with the SoundDock digital music system You can listen to this model iPod when it is docked but it the iPod will not charge Customer Service For questions about the SoundDock digi
