Connecting to Oracle ILOM This section describes how to configure the IP address for the server using Oracle Integrated Lights Out Manager OracleILOM It contains the following topics m Network Defaults on page 50 a Log In to Oracle ILOM Using a Serial Connection on page 50 m Log In to Oracle ILOM Using an Ethernet Connection on page 51 m Modify Network Settings on page 52 a Test IPv4 or IPv6 Network Configuration on page 56 a Exit Oracle I LOM on page 57 49 Network Defaults The Sun Fire X4170 M2 and X4270 M2 Servers support dual stack IPv4 and IPv6 settings which enable Oracle ILOM to fully operate in an IPv4 and IPv6 network environment For IPv4 configurations DHCP is enabled by default allowing a DHCP server on the network to automatically assign network settings to the server For IPv6 configurations IPv6 stateless auto configuration is enabled by default allowing an IPv6 router on the network to assign the network settings In a typical configuration you will accept these settings assigned by the DHCP server or IPv6 router Note To determine the IP address or host name assigned by the DHCP server use the network tools provided with the DHCP server or IPv6 router The procedures in this section enable you to test that the assigned settings are working correctly and to establish a connection to Oracle ILOM locally and remotely To log in locally see Log In to Oracl
