7. rs through the brackets on the pedestal and into the stove Tighten the bolts with a 9 16 wrench Use a 9 16 wrench to attach the four pedestal bolts to the bottom of the stove I U 9 16 Wrench The lag bolts and washers may be inserted through these holes to anchor the SS pedestal to the floor Pedestal The dowels insert onto the front and without ashpan back edge of the pedestal base Page 1 of 7 TRROUSE OF FIRE Printed September 4 2008 Avalon Ashpan Installation Instructions Part 99200125 2 Pry out the drop chute knockout with a large screwdriver T FRONT OF STOVE Drop Chute J Standard Pedestal Knock Out TR Outside Air Knock Out CJ Ashpan Pedestal Air Boot Outside Air Knock Out NOTE If using m outside air remove i Rear Blower Knock Outs a a this knock out 3 Open the door to the stove and remove the floor firebricks on the left side Locate the drop chute cover on the floor of the firebox Remove the four bolts that secure it with a 7 16 wrench Remove the cover and the gasket below it Insert the drop chute gasket around the drop chute Then insert the drop chute through the hole in the firebox floor Position the drop chute so the slots run side to side Replace the four bolts to secure the drop chute Remove the four bolts that hold the drop chute in place 7 16 Wrench Insert the Drop Chute into the hole Secure it in place with the four bolts that held the drop chu
8. te cover in place Drop Chute Cover Drop Chute Floor of Firebox Drop f Make sure the gasket ahy Chute Remove and discard forms a seal around Gasket the drop chute cover the perimeter of the drop chute When installed the grates on the drop chute should look like this when viewed from the side FRONT gt Page 2 of 7 TRHOUSE OF FIRE Printed September 4 2008 Avalon Ashpan Installation Instructions Part 99200125 4 Seal the area around the knock out for outside air on standard pedestals the 2 x 7 forward center knockout see the illustration below with stove gasket cement knead the cement inside the tube prior to applying Smooth the cement so it is flush with the baseplate Seal the area around the drop chute in the same manner Seal the gap around this knock out Seal the gap around the bottom of the drop chute Do not seal this knock out 5 For the Rainier 990 follow step 5a For the Olympic 1190 follow step 5b 5a This kit includes four bricks Locate the 6 x 2 1 8 and 2 7 8 x 8 1 4 bricks they are used for the Rainier 990 The other two bricks may be discarded Use the bricks inside the firebox along with the two bricks for the Rainier 990 to form the brick pattern shown below NOTE you will have two extra bricks these bricks may be discarded Standard Rainier 990 Floor Brick Pattern Ashpan Pedestal Rainier 990 Floor Brick Pattern Brick A 9 x 1 5 8 9 x 3 1
