1. Follow these steps to play a demon stration song 1 The Concertmate 410 automati cally selects the song Twinkle Twinkle Little Star A1 each time you turn it on To play another song press SONG illustration 2 Choose a song from the SONG list then repeatedly press the cor responding button A B or C until you hear the corresponding num ber For example to select Jingle Bells C2 repeatedly press C until you hear Two 3 Press DEMO The TEMPO indica tor flashes in time with the beat and a voice counts one measure of beats The Concertmate 410 then plays that song Notes The Concertmate 410 automati cally plays each demonstration song with a preselected voice musical instrument Your Concertmate 410 plays the selected demonstration song continuously until you turn it off The song Long Long Ago C6 includes synthesized singing While the song is playing you can adjust the tempo see Using the Auto Rhythms on Page 14 4 Adjust VOLUME to the desired set ting 5 To turn off the demonstration song at any time press DEMO again 6 To select a different song press SONG then repeat Step 2 Using CHORD ONLY The Concertmate 410 lets you turn off the melody of a demonstration song so you can play the melody while the key board plays the accompaniment 1 Select the demonstration song you want to play 2 Select the voice musical instru
2. at your fingertips To play a percussion pad sound sim ply press the desired pad at any time during play The keyboard plays the selected percussion sound once each time you press the pad Repeatedly press the pad to play the selected sound several times in a row illustration Note The Concertmate 410 has four sound channels This means that you can play and hear up to four notes at one time on the keyboard The percus sion pad you play uses one of the sound channels e s KA EA d Sp NS 42 4031 fm Page 18 Wednesday August 11 1999 4 22 PM Storing a Percussion Pattern The Concertmate 410 lets you use the 5 percussion pads to create your own per cussion pattern of up to 16 beats including rests 1 Choose the desired rhythm see Using the Auto Rhythms on Page 14 2 Press PROG The indicator beside PROG lights 3 Using the percussion pads enter your own percussion pattern Notes To enter a rest in the pattern simply press PLAY SPACE If you choose WALTZ B6 as the rhythm enter only 12 beats If you enter fewer than 12 beats you must enter a rest in each place that is not filled with a beat until all 12 beats are filled To enter a waltz pattern follow this example illustration f you choose any pattern other than a waltz enter 16 beats If you enter fewer than 16 beats you must enter a rest in each place that is not filled with a beat until all 16 beats are filled

To enter a pattern other than a waltz pattern follow this example illustration 4 Press PLAY SPACE The Concertmate 410 continuously plays the pattern you just entered gp E Sp NS 42 4031 fm Page 19 Wednesday August 11 1999 4 22 PM 5 To play a melody along with the percussion rhythm press any key board key s 6 Adjust TEMPO s and t and VOL UME to the desired levels 7 To stop the percussion rhythm press PLAY SPACE 8 To re start the rhythm press PLAY SPACE Note The percussion pattern is lost when you press the percus sion pads again press PROG REC DEMO CHORD ONLY or turn off the Concertmate 410 USING REVERB The Concertmate 410 s reverb feature lets you reverberate echo the tone of the key you press The reverb feature uses one of the four sound channels and is automatically selected each time you turn on the keyboard To turn off the reverb feature simply press REVERB before or during play illustration To turn on reverb again press RE VERB The reverb feature turns off automati cally when you play the rhythm use REC LESSON or CHORD ONLY USING OCTAVE The Concertmate 410 automatically selects the tone of middle C each time you turn it on For added flexibility you can raise the sound of the keyboard by one musical octave To quickly raise the key one octave press OCTAVE while the keyboard is si lent Press OCTAVE agai

9. the but ton USING AUTO ACCOMPANIMENT illustration The 14 keys on the left side of the key board with note labels above them are called accompaniment keys Auto accompaniment lets you play chords on the accompaniment keys using chord formations of one to three notes T Sp Wi VJ Ei b 42 4031 fm Page 16 Wednesday August 11 1999 4 22 PM Notes You can use the Concertmate 410 s rhythm controls FILL IN and SYNC with auto accompaniment After you press the auto accompa niment keys the Concertmate 410 plays the same chord until you press other keys to play a different chord or until you press START STOP The accompaniment keys you press determine the type of chord played Note See Chord Chart on Page 22 for a list of all the chords you can play on your Concertmate 410 Follow these steps to start auto ac companiment 1 Press A B C so the indicator beside A B C turns on illustration 2 Select and enter an auto rhythm 3 To synchronize the start of the selected auto rhythm with your accompaniment press SYNC so the TEMPO indicator flashes 4 Begin the accompaniment by pressing the desired accompani ment key s To play a melody along with the accompaniment press any key s to the right of the accompaniment keys 5 Adjust TEMPO s and t and VOL UME to the desired levels 6 To change chords without inter rupting the rhythm simply press th
