10. close the lens cover PUSH EJECT Cleaning The Camcorder CLEAN EXTERIOR 1 Wipe gently with a soft cloth CLEAN LCD MONITOR Slide MONITOR OPEN to open the LCD monitor and wipe gently with soft cloth Be careful not to damage the monitor Close the LCD monitor CLEAN LENS Blow it with a blower brush then wipe gently with lens cleaning paper REMOVE EYEPIECE 4 Turn the eyepiece counterclockwise and pull it out CLEAN VIEWFINDER 5 Remove dust using a blower brush RE ATTACH EYEPIECE Align the marks re attach the eyepiece and turn it clockwise NOTES e Avoid using strong cleaning agents such as benzine or alcohol e Cleaning should be done only after the battery pack has been removed or other power units have been disconnected e Mold may form if the lens is left dirty TROUBLESHOOTING m5 POWER No power is supplied The power suddenly goes off and doesn t come back on by itself RECORDING Recording cannot be performed Recording does not start PLAYBACK The tape is running but there s no playback picture e The battery pack has not been attached correctly gt pg 8 e The battery pack is not charged pg 8 e The power supply has not been correctly connected gt pg 9 e The battery pack has completely discharged e Remove the cassette and disconnect the power source then after a few minutes try turning the power back on If it still doesn t come on cons

12. in the LCD monitor or the viewfinder as shown The indicated remaining time is approximate The time required to calculate the remaining tape length and the accuracy of the calculation may vary according to the type of tape used The tape remaining time indicator is correct only if the correct tape length has been selected CG pg 12 e TAPE END appears when the tape reaches its end and the power goes off automatically if left in this condition for 5 minutes TAPE END also appears when a cassette whose tape is already at its end is loaded e While shooting pressing DISPLAY lets you remove some indiations from the screen F pg 47 e If the Record Standby mode continues for 5 minutes without performing Zoom or any other operations the camcorder s power shuts off automatically Set the Power switch to POWER OFF and then back to CAMERA to turn the camcorder on again e If the Recording Start Stop button is pressed after the Record Standby mode has continued for over 5 minutes recording may not start immediately e If you re recording on a cassette from the middle use the RETAKE function F pg 18 to find the end of the last recording so you don t erase any of it e The LENS COVER warning blinks for about 5 seconds when the camcorder is turned on when the cover is closed While shooting sound is not heard from the speaker 1 6 EN RECORDING Basic Recording cont Shooting while watching the LCD monitor Befo
