3. est and highest shelves receive the hot air directly and therefore delicate foodstuffs could be burnt on these shelves e Asa general rule use the 2nd and 4th shelf from the bottom placing the foodstuffs that require greater heat on the 2nd shelf from the bottom For example when cooking meat roasts together with other food place the roast on the 2nd shelf position from the bottom and the more delicate food on the 4th shelf position from the bottom e When cooking food that require differing times and temperatures set a temperature that is somewhere between the two temperatures required place the more delicate food on the 4th shelf position from the bottom and take the food requiring less time out of the oven first e Use the baking tray on the lower shelf position and the shelf on the upper 11 Using the Fast Cooking Mode Functional fast and practical for those of you who use frozen or pre cooked food along with other food items You will find useful suggestions in the Cooking Chart Using the Grill The 7 Chefs oven offers you several different grilling modes Use the m grill mode placing the food in the centre of the grill pan situated on the 3rd or 4th shelf from the bot tom because only the central part of the top heating ele ment is turned on To catch any fat and or grease that may drip from the shelf place the baking tray provided on the first shelf from the bottom When using this
4. mode we recommend you set the tem perature control to the highest setting Lower temperatures can also be set simply by setting the temperature control to the temperature required In models fitted with a rotisserie you can use the spit kit provided when using the grill mode In this case cook with the oven door shut placing the spit kit on the third oven shelf from the bottom and the dripping pan on the bottom shelf to collect any sauce and or dripping fat Setting x Gratin is extremely useful for grilling foods rapidly as the distribution of heat makes it possible not only to brown the surface but also to cook the bottom part Moreover it can also be used for browning foods at the end of the cooking process such as adding that gratin finish to pasta bakes When using this mode place the shelf on the 2nd or 3rd shelf position from the bottom see cooking table then to prevent fat and grease from dripping onto the bottom of the oven and thus smoke from forming place a baking tray on the 1st shelf position from the bottom Important always cook in Gratin mode with the oven door shut This will allow you both to obtain excellent re sults and to save on energy approximately 10 When using this mode we advise you to set the tempera ture control to 200 C as it is the most efficient way to use the grill which is based on the use of infrared rays How ever this does not mean you cannot use lower tempera

11. ce it with another featuring the same characteristics voltage 230 240 W wattage 25 W type E 14 Replace the glass cover and ensure you reposition the seal correctly compartment Glass door Fast clean Safety Infast clean mode the temperature inside the oven reaches 500 which is necessary for the destruction of food and fat residue as illustrated below Given this high temperature your oven is fitted with some safety devices the oven door is locked automatically as soon as the temperature reaches 125 C in order to avoid risks of burns the heating elements are no longer powered if an anomaly occurs Note When looking through the oven door you may notice some particles that light up when they are destroyed by pyrolysis upon contact with the heating elements this is simply spontaneous combustion it is extremely normal and without danger Precautions to be taken before performing the fast clean process 1 Try to remove the larger food residue from inside the oven using a wet sponge We highly advise against the use of detergents or all other products recommended for cleaning ovens 2 Remove all the accessories from the oven they are not designed to withstand such high temperatures What s more some of these accessories would alter the result of the pyrolytic self cleaning process and obstruct the circulation of heat inside the oven The accessories can easily be cleaned like everyday
12. crockery and are dishwasher proof 3 Don t leave any tea towels on the oven door handle Warning the oven surfaces may get hot during the fast clean process keep children well away 15 How to start the cleaning process e Take all the accessories out of the oven Remove the toughest grease and food spots and especially all substantial overflows in order to avoid the creation of flames or smoke e Shut the oven door e Turn the function selector B and set it to FAST CLEAN e The cleaning process takes approximately 90 minutes You can set the duration of the cleaning cycle 60 90 120 minutes depending on the degree of soil of your oven e Press key 4 to start the cycle Just as for cooking you can set a fast clean cycle with a delayed start 52 The oven door is locked automatically as soon as you Start a fast clean cycle 52 The key indicator light flashes while the door is being locked and the cycle time gradually decreases The indicator light stops flashing and stays on as soon as the oven door is locked As long as the temperature inside the oven stays below 125 C you can unlock the oven door by pressing key 3 for 3 seconds The door is unlocked immediately If you forget to relock the oven door again the latter will be locked automatically as soon as the temperature inside the oven reaches 325 C What happens at the end of the fast clean cycle The programmer beeps and the word END comes up o

16. lockwise until the word OFF appears on the display panel The accessories Your oven offers you many differing cooking modes These can only be achieved thanks to a number of accessories which we have chosen for you These accessories slide in and out of the different shelf positions inside your oven and can thus be positioned according to the individual cooking requirements of differing foods and dishes The grill pan baking tray Use it e asagrill pan or baking tray There is a grid to grill food on which fits into the grill pan e asa dish support for all dishes when cooking on one rack only and in Bain Marie cooking e as a support for food mini cup cakes etc e asa drip tray to catch juices and fat dripping from food situated on the rod shelf We advise against using the baking tray grill pan on the 4th and 5th shelf positions from the oven bottom The large rod shelf Always use this with the edges upwards and together with the grill pan e When itis positioned on the 2 shelf position from the oven bottom it acts as a meat support with the grill pan placed on the 1st shelf position from the bottom to catch any dripping fat or juices e When it is positioned on the top shelf position depending on the size of the foodstuff for grilled food the grill pan is to be placed on the 1st shelf position from the oven bottom to catch any dripping fat or juices e When it is positioned on the top shelf position for cooki

18. n the display panel Press button 3 again to select the desired language Setting the clock The clock can only be set if the oven is turned off After the appliance has been connected to the power supply or following a power failure the clock displays a flashing 12 00 or the last time memorised The time can be changed by pressing button 1 and resetting the clock using knob C which you can modify only whilst the scrolling writing crosses the display Setting the date To update the date press and hold down button 1 until the word YEAR comes up on the display Update the year by turning knob C and then press button 1 to set the month again using knob C Press button 1 again to set the day using knob C Press button 1 to memorise the date set Minute Minder Feature The timer can only operate when the oven is turned off Please remember that the timer does not control the starting or stopping of the oven it merely sounds a buzzer when the time is up and can be interrupted at any time just by pressing a button To set the Minute Minder press button 2 and then make the necessary adjustment using knob C Press button 4 to start the timer At all times during the Minute Minder operation you may e adjust its duration using knob C e stop the countdown by pressing button 4 for approximately 3 seconds or turning knob B anti clockwise e enable disable the control panel lock by pressing button 2 for at leas
19. ng on more than one shelf We advise against placing meat directly onto the grill pan when using the gratin mode as the fat and juices heated from below in this particular cooking mode could in fact char and splash onto the oven inside panels and create smoke 10 The rotisserie Spit cradle Prong F Spit handle This accessory is ideal for roasting meats as it rotates the meat slowly and browns uniformly until cooking is finished It is comprised of the following a support situated on the 3 shelf position from the oven bottom so the rotisserie fits into the hollow shaft of the rotisserie motor located atthe back of the oven behind the perforated oven back panel a spit that passes through the roast which is kept firmly in place on both ends by two adjustable sliding forks each fastened onto the spit by means of a wing nut Warning when positioning the rotisserie assembly ensure the spit fits firmly into the hollow shaft connected to the motor Make sure you position the following correctly the spit in the centre of the roast the roast at an equal distance from both ends of the spit a removable handle made of insulating material to screw onto the front of the spit allows you to have a rotisserie which is long enough for even the largest of roasts to avoid scalding yourself when removing the roast at the end of cooking Screw on the handle tightly to take out the spit the handle sho
20. ning the function selector B Traditional Position knob C between 40 C and 250 C The top and bottom heating elements are used In this mode the coolest part of the oven is the centre The con vection oven is best for cooking dishes made up of several ingredients e g tender veal strips with rice braised meats stews goulash etc and dishes that need to cook slowly and require basting or the addition of liquid and cooking using covered casserole dishes for oven baking When cooking in convection mode only use one baking tray or shelf at a time otherwise the heat distribution will be uneven Using the different shelf position available you can balance the amount of heat between the top and the bottom of the oven Select from among the various shelf positions based on whether the dish needs more or less heat from the top Pastry Position knob C between 40 C and 250 C Only the circular heating element and the fan come on to provide delicate heat suitable for baking cakes and pastries such as brioches chocolate cake fruitcake sponge cake mini cup cakes meringues etc In this case use the grill pan as a dish support and place it on the 2 shelf position from the oven bottom We recommend you pre heat the oven before placing your dishes in it Fast cooking Position knob C between 40 C and 250 C The combination of all the heating elements together with the fan guarantee

22. ollow the instructions below e select the cooking mode by turning the function selector B and the temperature by turning control C e set the cooking time by pressing button 2 The recommended cooking time comes up on the display and you can adjust this by turning control C Please remember that the time entered does not include the necessary pre heating stage e set the end cooking time by pressing button 1 Turn control C until the display panel features the time you want the food to be ready The display panel will feature the end cooking time and the start time is calculated by subtracting the cooking time as well as the time necessary for the oven to preheat automatically calculated by the appliance according to the cooking mode selected After these selection procedures the display panel will show the time at which preheating will commence where required and that at which cooking will finish The latter can still be altered up until the cooking mode and temperature reappear on the display panel Any incorrect data can be corrected simply by repeating the above instructions This information will now be remembered until you press start or turn selector 2 e press button 4 to start the programme To modify the settings made press button 4 for approximately 3 seconds and repeat the above procedures To cancel a cooking programme To cancel any programme which has been entered turn the function selector B antic

32. tures simply by adjusting the temperature control to the desired temperature Cooking Advice Baking Cakes When baking cakes always preheat the oven Make sure you wait until the oven has preheated thoroughly the red oven indicator light E will go out Do not open the oven door during baking to prevent the cake from dropping In general if Pastry is too dry Increase the temperature by 10 C and reduce the cooking time Pastry has dropped Use less liquid or lower the temperature by 10 C Pastry is too dark on top Place it on a lower shelf lower the temperature and increase the cooking time It is cooked well on the inside but sticky on the outside Use less liquid lower the temperature and increase the cooking time The pastry sticks to the pan Grease the pan well and sprinkle it with a dusting of flour or use greaseproof paper You used more than one shelf in the fan assisted oven mode and they are not all at the same cooking point Use a lower temperature setting It is not necessary to remove the food from all the shelves at the same time 12 Cooking Fish and Meat When cooking white meat fowl and fish use temperature settings from 180 C to 200 C For red meat that should be well done on the outside while tender and juicy in the inside it is a good idea to start with a high temperature setting 200 C 220 C for a short time then turn the oven down afterwards In general the larger the
