6. er during the first few uses with tap water This happens as the steam chamber becomes conditioned This will stop after a few uses e During first use of the iron it may appear to smoke This will stop and does not indicate a defect or hazard To Dry Iron 1 Plug in iron 2 Turn the Adjustable Steam Switch to the Dry Iron position 3 Turn the Temperature Control Dial to desired temperature Allow 3 minutes for iron to reach desired temperature 4 To turn iron off turn Temperature Control Dial to OFF To Steam Iron 1 Unplug iron Flip open water tank cover Using a cup slowly pour 8 ounces of tap water into the water tank opening as illustrated 2 Plug in iron 3 Turn the Temperature Control Dial to the desired setting in the steam range With the iron in an upright position allow 3 minutes for the iron to reach desired temperature Do not preheat the iron with the soleplate facing down 4 4 Set the Adjustable Steam Switch to desired steam output 5 To turn iron off turn Adjustable Steam Switch to Dry Iron Turn Temperature Control Dial to OFF 6 Empty water from the iron following directions in Caring for Your Iron and Soleplate Water Please use ordinary tap water If you have extremely hard water alternate between tap water and distilled water for use in the iron Features on selected models Adjustable Steam Switch This switch provides minimum steam for wool or maximum steam
7. for linen Set the switch to O to change to Dry Iron Spray and Blast Buttons Push Blast Button for an extra blast of steam Push Spray Button to release a fine spray of water for difficult wrinkles in cotton or linen Features on selected models Automatic Shutoff Light and Reset Button If the iron is an Automatic Shutoff model the light comes on when the iron is first plugged in After 1 hour the iron will shutoff and the light will go out Push the Reset Button to turn the iron back on for another hour of ironing Vertical Steam 1 Unplug iron Flip open water tank cover Using a cup slowly pour 8 ounces of tap water into water tank opening 2 Plug iron into outlet 3 Turn the Temperature Control Dial to highest setting 4 Allow three minutes for the iron to reach desired temperature 5 Hang garment in a location that is not susceptible to damage from heat or moisture Do not hang in front of wallpaper window or mirror 6 Hold iron about 6 inches away from garment and press and release the Blast Button to steam out wrinkles Do not press the Blast Button more than once every 2 seconds 7 To turn iron off turn Temperature Control Dial to Off Unplug iron 8 Empty water from the iron following directions in Caring for Your Iron NOTE Do not allow hot soleplate to touch delicate garments 6 Power Light Models that do not have the auto matic shutoff and the reset button do ha
