1. PC fax Problems Problem After receiving a PC fax data it is not printed immediately Possible Cause and Remedy Make sure that Automatically answer for incoming calls after rings or Enable manual receiving options are enabled These options should be disabled to print data To check for the option status right click the SmarThru engine icon in the right corner of the taskbar then select configuration from the pop up menu In the SmarThru configuration dialogue box select fax gate then options and check the options in the fax gate properties dialogue box PC fax does not work 5 8 Troubleshooting Make sure that the fax service option is enabled Right click the SmarThru engine icon in the right corner of the taskbar then select configuration from the pop up menu In the SmarThru configuration dialogue box select services then options and enable fax gate The fax modem setup is not made properly To configure the fax modem right click the SmarThru engine icon in the taskbar and select configuration from the pop up menu In the SmarThru configuration dialogue box select fax gate then options and specify the fax gate options Change the modem port not to conflict with other devices In Win 3 x 95 98 the modem port is set to COM3 or COMA and Win NT 4 0 is COM8 PC fax is not working while the MFP is running for print jobs Retry when the current printing is finished

You can change the image s colour mode using the Color menu These commands do not work with regions They are always applied to the whole image The result of the changes will be immediately shown in the preview area Halftone It makes the image look like simulated grayscales using different combinations of 1 bit black and white pixels Because this image type is only 1 bit the file size is smaller than grayscale Grayscale It converts the image into a grayscale mode All the colour information will be removed from the image and the image will look black and white Color Resolution It changes the colour depth of an image Colour depth is defined as a number of bits per one pixel of image The more bits are used to represent one pixel the more colours you can have in one image So when you reduce the colour depth the number of available colors is reduced too Note You can work with an colour image using Samsung ImageThru by importing the colour image from an external application but you cannot scan and print the colour image because your machine is a black and white scanner and printer Adjusting image attributes You can adjust a number of image attributes for an image being edited by using the following submenus from the Color menu Brightness You can make your image look brighter or darker Contrast The contrast value defines how sharp or smooth the transition between areas of different colour will be The higher the
