The options available vary depending on the country of purchase These settings take effect only when IBM 2390 Plus emulation is selected Page length for tractor This setting allows you to set the page length in inches for continuous paper Changing Printer Settings From the Printer s Control Panel 5 5 Skip over perforation This feature is available only when continuous paper is selected When you select On the printer provides a one inch 25 4 mm margin between the last line printed on one page and the first line printed on the next page Because the program margin settings in most applications override margin settings made from the control panel you should use this setting only if you cannot set your top and bottom margins using your application Auto tear off When auto tear off is on and you are using continuous paper with the push tractor the printer automatically advances the paper perforation to the tear off position where you can easily tear off the printed pages When the printer receives the next print job it automatically moves the unused paper back to the top of form position and starts printing so you can use all of the next page When auto tear off is off and you are using continuous paper with the push tractor you need to move the perforation to the tear off position manually by pressing the Tear Off Bin button See Advancing the Paper to the Tear Off Edge on page 2 34 for more information T

18. below you need four sheets of A4 or letter size single sheet paper or four pages of continuous paper that are at least 279mm 11 inches long and 241 mm 9 5 inches wide See Chapter 2 for instructions on loading continuous paper or Chapter 3 for instructions on loading single sheets If you use single sheets you need to load a new sheet of paper each time the printer ejects a printed sheet onto the paper guide Follow these steps to perform the bidirectional adjustment 1 Make sure paper is loaded and the printer is turned off Caution Whenever you turn off the printer wait at least five seconds before turning it back on otherwise you may damage the printer While holding down the Pause button turn on the printer The printer enters the bidirectional adjustment mode and then prints instructions and the first set of alignment patterns As described in the instructions compare the alignment patterns and select the pattern with the best alignment Follow the instructions to print the remaining sets of alignment patterns and select the pattern with the best alignment in each set After you select the best pattern in the final set of alignment patterns turn off the printer and exit the bidirectional adjustment mode Your selections are saved automatically Troubleshooting 7 17 Printing a Self Test 7 18 Running the printer s self test helps you determine whether the printer or the computer is causing the prob
