1. q Storing food in the two star compartment The two star compartment is separated from the fresh food compartment by the drip tray Depending on the position of the thermostat control knob and the temperature in the compartment 12 C or lower frozen food can be stored here Small quantities of fresh food can be frozen in the two star compartment but storing them for a long period of time is not recommended Do not allow fresh food to come into contact with foods that are already frozen Storing food in the fresh food compartment The following tips should help you to ensure that the food in your home is in as perfect condition as possible Keep the time between buying chilled food and placing it in your fridge as short as possible Tests showed that the temperature of 1 litre of orange juice rose to 22 C in an hour between the supermarket and home It then took 11 hours to get down to 7 C in the refrigerator Keep the refrigerator door closed as much as possible Do not push food together too much try to allow air to circulate around each item Cool cooked food as quickly as possible but do NOT place in the refrigerator until cool Leave food in a cool place in order that it can be placed in the refrigerator as soon as possible Do NOT mix raw and cooked meat they must be separate containers Take care not to let the meat juices drip onto other f2. 3. days Fruits cherry gooseberry fruit cream 1 day 30 days Meat chicken duck goose tuna fish 1 day 30 days Ice cream Ice lollies 1 day 3 days Maintenance and Cleaning Before any maintenance or cleaning work is carried out DISCONNECT the appliance from the ELECTRICITY supply Internal Cleaning Clean the inside and accessories with warm water and bicarbonate of soda 5 ml to 0 5 litre of water Rinse and dry thoroughly NEVER USE DETERGENTS ABRASIVE POWDERS HIGHLY PERFUMED CLEANING PRODUCTS OR WAX POLISHES TO CLEAN THE APPLIANCE INTERIOR AS THESE WILL DAMAGE THE SURFACE AND LEAVE A STRONG SMELL External Cleaning Wash the outer cabinet with warm soapy water Do NOT use abrasive products Once or twice a year dust the condenser black grill and the compressor at the back of the appliance with a brush or vacuum cleaner see figure Changing the Light Bulb Should the interior light fail to work first switch off the appliance and disconnect from the electricity supply then replace as follows Spring off the light cover in the direction of the arrows and replace the bulb with one of the same type 230V 15W E14 thread After changing the bulb replace the light cover and reconnect the appliance to the electrical supply When the appliance is not in use When the appliance is not in use for long periods disconnect from the electricity supply empty all foods and c
4. food is stored in the 2 star compartment and the ambient temperature is above 25 C pull the tray out to position 1 and turn the thermostat control to a colder setting higher number When the ambient temperature falls below 25 C turn the thermostat control back to a medium setting and push the tray into position 2 Making Ice Cubes Fill the ice cube tray supplied with the appliance 3 4 full with water and place it in the two star compartment Turning the thermostat control knob to a colder setting will speed up this process but remember to return to its original position after To release the ice cubes twist the tray along its length Normal operating sounds You may hear faint gurgling or bubbling sounds when the refrigerant is pumped to the cooling plate through the coils or tubing at the rear When the compressor is on the refrigerant is being pumped round and you will hear a whirring sound or pulsating noise from the compressor A thermostat controls the compressor and you will hear a faint click when the thermostat cuts in and out Defrosting Regular defrosting is necessary to ensure efficient operation of the appliance It is recommended that the two star compartment is defrosted fortnightly or when the frost is more than 4 5 mm thick Frost will build up in the frozen food compartment due to the moisture in the air which enters the refrigerator compartment when the door is opened and

19. the washer 2 can be removed DOOR REVERSAL Should you wish to reverse the direction that the door opens follow the instructions and diagrams below Ensure that the appliance is disconnected from the electricity supply before reversing the door To reverse the bottom hinge assembly proceed as follows e Tilt the appliance backwards resting the top edge of the appliance on a stool or something similar e Unscrew the adjustable feet situated on both sides at the front 2 pieces Remove the lower door hinge plate by unscrewing the 3 retaining screws e Remove the hinge pin from the bottom of the door e Slotthe hinge pin into the hole in the hinge pin plate and relocate the hinge pin assembly to the opposite location and refit using the retaining screws e Return the cabinet to an upright position 15 To reverse the top hinge assembly proceed as follows e Remove the 2 worktop retaining screws from the back of the appliance e Slide the worktop towards the rear and lift it clear of the appliance e Remove the 2 upper hinge plate retaining screws e Remove the hinge plate from the top of the door e Unscrew the hinge pin from the hinge plate and insert it on the opposite side of the plate e Rotate the hinge assembly 180 and insert the hinge assembly into the opposite location e Refit the 2 hinge plate retaining screws e Relocate the worktop and
