1.     10  DCI    BY PRO JECT AUDIO SYSTEMS    INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE  Pro Ject CD Box RS    Dear music lover     thank you for purchasing a Pro Ject Audio CD Box RS     In order to achieve maximum performance and reliability you should study these instructions for use carefully     Yy   3    Warning of a hazard for the user  the unit or possible misuse     Important notice     Caution  Laser diode  safety instructions    V    This product contains a laser diode of higher class than 1  To ensure continued safety  do not remove any  covers or attempt to gain access to the inside of the product  Refer all servicing to qualified personnel   AC outlet voltages vary from country to country  Before connecting to the mains  make sure that the  voltage in your area meets the voltage requirements printed on the power supply  The power cord is  used to disconnect the unit from the mains  Make sure that the power cord is easily accessible at all  times  Never handle the device  the power cord power supply while your hands are wet or damp   Avoid letting liquids enter the device or the power supply  Never place any item containing liquid   such as a flower vase on or near the device  Never spill any liquid on the device or the power  supply  Never place any naked flame sources  such as lighted candles on or near the device  The product  shall not be used in damp or wet locations  next to a bathtub  sink  swimming pool or any other similar  conditions     Discs to avoid    V    Connectors

4. back        Pro Ject Audio Systems   Pro Ject CD Box RS   Revision 2014 4 1 3    Front panel controls     gt  E  gt  gt i                   CD Box RS    Switching on and off    The switch on the left hand side of the front panel turns the unit on and off  The blue LED above the ON OFF  switch shows that the unit is switched on     Selecting playback mode    MODE on the remote control toggles between the sampling frequencies 44 1 and 88 2kHz  upsampling  and  Sonic2 playback mode  sampling frequency 176 4kHz      To store Sonic2  I S  ore upsampling to 88 2kHz as the default playback mode  press OK  The selected  playback mode will be shown in the display     To be able to use the Sonic2 playback mode  the output Out Sonic AND the input Clock In have to  be connected to the corresponding connectors on the Pro Ject DAC Box RS or on the Pre Box RS  Digital     f one of the connections is missing or faulty  Sonic2 playback mode cannot be selected     Inserting a disc  Switch the unit on  Remove the lid and the magnetic clamp  Insert the disc  with the label side facing upwards     Place the magnetic clamp on the CD and put the lid on  The display shows  Loading  don t open       After  loading  the display shows the total number of tracks on the disc and the total duration of the disc     Display shows after switching on and inserting the lid    Display shows when lid is removed  no disc is inserted  disc is not supported or damaged    V Not using the magnetic clamp may cause une
