ADVANCED DRUG KIT INFORMATION BOOKLET PLEASE READ BEFORE USE OR WARRANTY MAY BE VOID INTRODUCTION The following booklet is a users guide to using the NEANN ADK Advanced Drug Kit This kit has been selected by the Ambulance Service Of N S W under tender document ES 02 for introduction throughout the State of N S W Officers need to read this booklet carefully before setting up and using the ADK E NW Qu Hm aun wee qs un EQUIPMENT LAYOUT GUIDES The ADK has been designed to comply with the current equipment list provided by the Ambulance Service Of N S W all in a neat well laid out user friendly manner designed to remove the need of SEARCH amp SELECT ACTIVITIES This layout has specifically been designed to achieve the following Items of similar use have where possible been grouped and stored together Most equipment has been given it s own pocket elastic or division wherever possible to ease and reduce time spent on equipment checks and accessing equipment Divisions and elastics are designed for quick and easy access to all items of equipment essential in an emergency Equipment storage and pocket layouts have been specifically designed to allow easy viewing and access as soon as the bag is opened There are no hidden areas Equipment checks are easy and fast as missing equipment stands out It is therefore REQUIRED that the following layout guides be used for the setting up of y

EAL KIT ATTACHMENT lt was recognised that only a small number of crews will require the Endotracheal Kit and to build an external pocket would get in the way of most crews by increasing bulk of the ADK lt was also recognised that there is a need to have one standard ADK throughout the Ambulance Service Of N S W that can be used by all levels of qualification The ADK therefore comes with 3 clips for securing an Endotracheal Kit When not required the clips are secured out of the way by elastic and a velcro strap A separate presentation and booklet is provided on this Endotracheal Kit Attached CD relating to the Endotracheal Kit used by the Ambulance Service Of N S W ZIPPER LiFTING TAB To assist in opening the ADK the ADK comes with a red lifting tab on the lid This will help prevent the zipper from jamming during opening and closing and will prolong the life of the zips Lifting Tab VEHICLE STORAGE amp REMOVAL The ADK is designed to be stored in all Ambulance Service Of N S W vehicles The ADK needs to be stored in the vehicle storage unit with the Sharps Container facing outwards A red pull tab is provided to assist with the removal of the ADK out of the storage unit It is NOT to be used as a lifting tab Red Removal Tab LAYOUT GUIDE A layout guide for equipment storage in the kit has been provided to assist Officers in maintaining the correct equipment storage lt is found unde

7. r the removable IV panel Layout Guide REFLECTIVE TAPE For maximum safety the ADK features full length reflective tape on sides and lid of the kit to enhance night time visibility during carrying and usage Reflexite On All Sides And Lid For Maximum Safety REMOVABLE BASES Removable bases have been placed on the two working surfaces of ADK to protect the main bag from wear and tear and to extend the life of the ADK These removable bases velcro into place lt is accepted that these bases will get worn and need replacing after a period of time Replacements can be ordered through Stores Officers need to ensure that both removable bases are always on the ADK for prehospital use and that replacements are ordered when required to maintain protection to the main bag ee dr a CD Removable Bases Velcros Into Place FABRIC All fabrics used in the ADK are designed to comply with the Australian Standards on Laundry Practice AS 4146 1994 The ADK is made of a new special formulated material known as Vironfrie which is a heavy duty easy to clean wipe down material This material while not as durable as the previous Cordura material used by the Ambulance Service Of N S W has been chosen due to it s significantly improved cleaning and OH amp S characteristics which allows the kit to be quickly washed and dried for reintroduction into Service and is less likely to absorb blood and other body contaminants To maintain
