1. 5pm Pacific Time INSTALLATION Connecting to your computer The Kinesis JSBTM Foot Switch may be connected to any USB port The first time this is done it is best to connect it after your computer has booted up and is logged in if you have a network so that you can see the new device detected message Drivers Windows 2000 through Windows 7 The device installs itself automatically as a generic HID device on all recent versions of Windows without requiring user supplied drivers Once the required generic driver is installed the JSB foot switch connects like a standard USB joystick Just plug the cable into a USB port on your computer whether the computer is running or not OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE GUIDELINES Flammable gases The JSB foot switch is not designed to be used in an environment with flammable or explosive gases such as an anesthetic mixture with air oxygen or nitrous oxide Duty cycle The JSB footswitch is rated for continuous operation though the computer or operating system may affect how the device performs under such conditions Normal usage consists of intermittent pressing of the pedal to initiate a Joystick button action Cleaning Occasional cleaning is recommended by first disconnecting the control module from the computer then wiping the pedals and electronics enclosure with a damp cloth Alternatively a cloth dampened with rubbing alcohol 70 isopropanol may be used though any silk screened
