14. also use this car sound system to play CD Rs and CD RWs that contain MP3 music files You can also play WMA files This chapters deals only with playing MP3 files since the operation for MP3 and WMA files is identical Notes WMA files with Digital Rights Management DRM from online mu sic shops cannot be played with this device lt WMA files can only be played back safe ly if they were created with Windows Media Player version 8 or later Preparing an MP3 CD The various combinations of CD burners CD burning software and CD blanks may lead to problems arising with the device s ability to play certain CDs If problems occur with your own burned CDs you should try another brand of CD blank or choose another colour of CD blank To avoid problems when playing self burned CDs you should not burn CDs at speeds greater than 16 speed The format of the CD must be ISO 9660 Level 1 Level 2 or Joliet Other formats can not be played reliably When creating coding MP3 WMA files from audio files you should use bit rates from 32 to 320 kbit s for MP3 files or 32 to 192 kbps for WMA files MP3 tracks can contain additional infor mation such as the artist album and track name ID3 tags This device can display ID3 tags of version 1 and 2 This device can manage up to 999 tracks in 99 directories The directories and tracks on the CD can be selected individually D01 D02 D03 D04 Too1

17. set a specific power on volume w press the MENU button 17 The menu is displayed we Press the softkey Volume Settings The Volume menu is displayed we Press the softkey On Volume 11 The current power on volume is displayed ws Press the V or A button or the lt or gt button 14 to adjust the power on volume between 1 and 66 To help you adjust the setting more easily the device will increase or decrease the vol ume as you make your changes When you have finished making your changes we press the OK button 18 repeatedly un til you reach the desired menu level for additional settings or completely exit the menu As an alternative you can select the set ting Last Volume in the Volume menu by pressing the softkey 0 When you switch on the device the volume level that was set the last time you switched the device off is activated again Notes e To protect your hearing the power on volume is limited to the value 38 for the setting Last Volume If the volume was higher before switch off the value is automatically set to 38 at switch on This prevents an unin tentionally and unexpectedly high vol ume when switching on the device lt To undo the Last Volume setting press the softkey On Volume 1 in the Volume menu The power on vol ume set last is displayed and is active again You can now leave the menu by pressing the OK button 18 or directly set a different power o
