5. g  1    20f6       1 Install astandard 1 4  Air Connector  notincluded  to the Air Inlet  First wrap the  threaded portion ofthe 1 4  airconnector with pipethread seal tape before threading it  into the Air Inlet  Tighten securely    2 Attach astandard quick connector  not included  toyour 3 8  airpressure source hose   Then attach the air hose tothe Airlmpact Wrench    NOTE  If you arenot using anautomatic in line oiler  add afew drops of pneumatic oil to  the AirInlet before attachingthe air hose  Add afew more drops of oil afterevery hour of  continual use    3 Set theair pressure regulatoron your aircompressor at 90PSI     WARNING  Do not exceedthe recommended pressure of 90 PSI  Damage to your  tool and possible personal injury and or property damage mayresult   4 Check theair line andits connections forair leaks  Makenote of these  and repair them  before using thistool   NOTE  Turn offyour air compressor and disconnect theair pressure hose before  changing sockets ormaking any adjustmentsto this tool  Severe injury orproperty  damage may otherwiseresult     A WARNING  This tool generates considerable torque whenin use  Always hold the  tool with both hands when using  and brace yourselfto resist the torque which willbe  delivered to the workpiece    5 Select the appropriate size 3 8  square drive impact socket  not included  for your  needs  Push andsnap the socketonto the anvil    Note  Impact Sockets mustbe rated for10 000 RPM orgreater    6 Set thedirection of the A
6. ir Impact Wrench to  FORWARD  or REVERSE   By moving  the Throttle Lever  Butterfly  tothe right  youare setting the tool to operate FORWARD   You may control the amount of torqueto be appliedby rotating the Regulator  There are  settings from 1 through 8  indicatingincreasing torque  Rockthe Throttle Lever  Butterfly   to the leftto REVERSE thedirection of thetool     NOTE  In this manual   FORWARD  refers to clockwiserotation  and  REVERSE  refers  to counterclockwise rotationof the Anvil  Alwaysbe aware ofthe direction ofthe threading  of the fasteneryou are workingon  While mostfasteners install withclockwise rotation   some threads areintentionally the reverse  REVERSE FORWARD Throttle Lever   Butterfly      NOTE  The actual torquedelivered at eachof the eightsettings will dependon the air  pressure supplied tothe tool  We suggest that you test the actual torque bytightening a  nut or boltat each setting  then observing theresultant torque by using a mechanical  torque wrench  notsupplied     7 1f installinga nut orbolt  set itas tight as possible by handbefore tightening withthe Air  Impact Wrench    8 Place thesocket  not included  over the fastener    9 Grip the Air Impact Wrench tightly with both hands  and rock the Throttle Lever   Butterfly  to the right  The tool will operate and tighten the fastener    10 When the fastener is tightened  release the Throttle Lever  Butterfly and remove the  tool from the fastener    11 1f possible  checkthe actual torque applied t
