2.   _                   t          module  9w7 module    T      E    a    A    The device list will show the bluetooth icon  phone battery life  a small icon for the iphone  the cell  phone carrier  and the device name      sa      ROGERS  808    27 0  m        C w  2808 168 7       With the RNS 510 GPS you can dial from touchscreen as the phone book or keypad  If your car has  a MFSW  you can use the MFD menu to enter a new number  The RNS 315 GPS also has this  capability but in a smaller screen     wARNS 310 GPS             As is  the module will work as plug play  If you have a MFSW and the voice control button didn t  work  you must change the coding with a VCDS to enable it  The sample codes are in 1000q   steering wheel swap and vary by equipment  The module will work fine without changing the code    this just enables the push to talk button on the steering wheel  For all 2010  or steering wheel  component   higher than 0110   here are some sample codes for reference    0001831  automatic trans  no rear wiper    0000731  manual trans  no rear wiper    0001832  automatic trans  rear wiper    0000732  manual trans  rear wiper     Note  you can only change the code after installing the new module  I tried changing the code for  someone who was going to add a 9w7 later and it caused the 9w2 bluetooth to not connect  To  restore bluetooth function I just changed the code back     If you re worried about the difficulty of swapping it  below is a video showing how easy they ar

6. display  You may see pictures of this because European units can do this  North American  units cannot     The part number for red MFD only are   1z0 035 729 b  1zZ0035729b   If you have an rSAP phone   the part number is   5n0 035 730 b  5n0035730b    rSAP is allows devices such as car phones with  built in GSM transceivers to connect to a SIM card in a phone with Bluetooth  thus the car phone  itself doesn t require a separate SIM card  This is mostly for Europe      The part numbers for white MFD only  oldest to newest  are    120 035 729 a  1zZ0035729a   oldest    1Z0 035 729 d  1zZ20035729d   newer  replaced by  c     120 035 729 c  1Z0035729c   newer  replaced by  e     1zZ0 035 729 e  1zZ0035729e   works with 3gs  last version before they switched to 9w7      The bluetooth antenna is external and is an additional part  VW  8p0 035 503 e  Some kits include  it  The external antenna is visible in the above picture     Cars equipped with this only have one audio channel w streaming bluetooth music so if you put in a  9w7 module you ll only get audio out of the right speaker  You can fix this by adding your own wire  from the bluetooth module to the radio     9w7 bluetooth from Golf  Jetta sedan  Sportwagen  or Golf wagon TDI   These are like 9w3 but with A2dp bluetooth streaming music capability and it can read typed  phonebook entries  It is the new standard module for 2011 VW Sportwagen TDI and 2011 Golf TDI   If you shop around you should be able to buy it for about th
7. e same price as a 9w3 module  It s a  direct swap for the older modules  It is confirmed to work fine with iphone OS4  Since it was  introduced in 2010  it is not compatible with the 2009 and earlier red display MFD     The bluetooth antenna is internal and inside the module box     The current part number for 9w7 VW Bluetooth are 7p6 035 730 c  7p6035730c   For detailed  installation instructions for 9w7  see 1000q  9w7 bluetooth and 1000q  9w7 install w video        If you swap from 9w3  mono  to 9w7  stereo   the streaming bluetooth will only play out the right  side  To have stereo streaming bluetooth you have to add 2 wires from the radio to the bluetooth  module  Full instructions are in the 1000q FAQ pages     9wZ bluetooth module   This is the current European module  The current VW part number is 3C8 035 730 a  3C8 035 730  A   It only works on white cluster cars  The difference vs  the North American 9w7 is Bluetooth 2 0  and rSAP  text messages   It does quad band 2g and 3g so it covers GSM bands used in North  America  To make rSAP work you need to install the GSM antenna as well     F       Bluetooth module location and retrofit for VW   Volk L or other aftermarket modules are behind the radio and are dealer installed  All other modules  are under the passenger seat  9w3 had either carpeted covers  shown right  or plastic covers   shown above w 9w3 module   9w3 is bolted in place with a metal bracket because it has an  external antenna  9w2 or 9w7 are in a foam b

10. etailed  descriptions     Place a Call   1  To place a call  enter the number on your phone  or find the contact in your phone   s phonebook   2  Press the green call button on your phone  The phone will immediately    ring    through the  Volkswagen sound system     Answer a Call   1  When connected to the Bluetooth system  an incoming call will mute the car radio and the  ringtone will sound over the car speakers  if enabled     2  TO answer the call  press once on the phone button  You can now speak hands free in your car  and hear your call over your car speakers     Ignore a Call    To ignore an incoming call  press and hold the phone button for more than 2 seconds     End a Call  To end a call  press the phone button once     Switch to Private Mode   To switch to private mode during a call  press and hold the phone button for more than 2 seconds   If the phone supports    Advanced Audio Distribution Profile     A2DP   music stored on the phone can  be played over the radio or radio navigation system through the car speakers    1  On the cell phone  select the music playback mode  such as    play via Bluetooth      then select the  device    VW UHV       2  Press the button on the radio or radio navigation system to select the media menu    3  On the phone   s music menu  select the desired songs playlist and press    play     The music will  begin The music plays on the Volkswagen sound system  When receiving an incoming call or placing  a call  the music will pause and

13. myturbodiesel com  VVV Audi   PorscheslDijand Chevy Cruze diesel forums FAQ and DIY       B TDI Wiki  DIY  and FAQ J    l    Bluetooth FAQ for mk5 mk6 mk7 VW Golf  Jetta   JSW  9w2  9w3  9w7 modules    Introduction    Bluetooth is a wireless connection that lets you connect your cell phone to your car  After they re  connected  you can listen to the call over the car speakers and speak through a microphone built in   to the car  There are 4 types of OEM bluetooth for mk5 and newer cars  Volk  9w2  9w3  and 9w7   This article separates procedures according to bluetooth type and if you have the RNS 510  navigation system  In the US  the 2010 Golf TDI and 2010 Jetta wagon TDI get 9w2 low bluetooth  standard  The 2010 Jetta sedan TDI gets 9w3 high bluetooth standard  Early Canadian wagons did  not get any bluetooth from the factory  All US bluetooth 2011 and later will be 9w7    Lowline MFD is the half screen  MFD  or MFI   same thing  different names  is the highline full  screen instrument cluster display  Up to 2009 mk5 cars had red displays and 2010 and later had  white displays  Bluetooth compatibility depends on whether your car uses mk5 electronics  red  display  or mk6 electronics  white display      Full MFD        Bluetooth type on VW Jetta  Golf  Sportwagen  and Touareg TDI  Volk L bluetooth from Jetta or Golf    Volk L was a dealer installed  instead of factory installed  bluetooth module behind the radio  You ll  mostly find these on 2005 5 2008 models  The later mod
