7. ust use a calibrated torque wrench and the supplied mounting hardware when fastening the cradle and mount This mount has not been tested for use in vehicles that are to be driven on public roads and highways Never install this mount in a vehicle driven on public roads and highways Contact Psion Teklogix for further details Preparation This articulating mount can be installed in a wide variety of orientations See Fig 1 3 and 4 Select the best orientation for your specific application Preferred orientations maintain the centre of mass of the cradle assembly directly over the centre of the base See Fig 1 Cradle may also be suspended from overhead structure see Figure 6 that meets all safety and mounting specifications outlined in this document Note Overhead mounting is not compatible with pistol grip Note the tilt amp rotation of the cradle can be easily adjusted by the operator Ensure that if the handscrew is loosened and the cradle slips that the operator amp any equipment cannot be damaged by it Also note that under extreme vibration the mount may slowly settle requiring readjustment and tightening of the handscrew The use of tightening tool Psion Teklogix part number 9000594 may be used to minimize settling See Fig 2 The mounting platform must be of sufficient strength to support 10 kg Never attach this mount to a plastic dash or a wooden platform without the appropriate backing plate and bracing Re
8. view the clearance requirements listed on the instruction sheet provided with your cradle when selecting a mounting location you must provide operator access at the top bottom amp sides Also review the section in the User Manual for your handheld product under Picker Cradle igure Zi PART NUMBER 1020171 REV D OSO 2 Installation Step 1 Assemble Ball to Bracket Place Screw C through RAM Ball D and Bracket B and affix with Nylok Nut A Four places see figure 3 Torque to 18 0 in lbs Step2 Attach Bracket to Cradle Place Screw E through Washer F and Bracket B and affix to Cradle G Four places see figure 3 Torque to 18 0 in lbs Step 3 Secure Base to Platform Use the supplied bolt hole pattern to drill the required holes in the local platform Hole diameters must not exceed 11 32 The kit provides 1 inch machine screws 1f these are not appropriate replace only with stainless steel type 18 8 5 16 machine screws thread type 18 and ensure at least two threads are visible when nuts M are in place Place Screw H through RAM Ball J Local Platform Flat Washer K and Lock Washer L affix with Nut M Four places see figure 3 Torque to 130 in lbs Step 4 Assemble with Short Arm Secure RAM Ball D and RAM Ball J into sockets of RAM Short Arm N see figure 1 Step 5 Positioning Mount Place cradle assembly into position shown see figure 4 and t
