3. 40jeo2iput yo SJ0j98uuoo dsip 7 acm 40 Sia snjejs eA BA pue uondo 104 J plouajog d 49A0 pesde 3 ulajsAS Bde m K114 Issue No 9 Druck ADTS 405 User Manual 3 1 OPERATION Preparation WARNING OBSERVE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS STATED IN LOCAL ORDERS AND THE AIRCRAFT OR EQUIPMENT SERVICING PROCEDURES Make sure the electrical and pneumatic connectors electrical cables and pipes and positioning of the ADTS 405 comply with the instructions and requirements in Section 2 Installation Carry out the following before use e If necessary carry out the maintenance task detailed in Section 4 e Make sure the air data test system power supply switch on the front panel is set to OFF Connect the air data test system to the electrical supply make sure the supply includes a connection to a protective earth e Inspect the pneumatic hoses for damage ingress of dirt and moisture Make sure the aircraft adaptors are serviceable Connect to the air data test system the hoses necessary for the test procedures to be carried out red hose to the STATIC output Ps blue hose to the PITOT output Pt Temporarily seal the free ends of the hoses Note When connected take care not to kink or stand on the hoses Connect the hand terminal to the air data test system through the HAND TERMINAL connector on the front panel If necessary connect the hand terminal through the extension cable Before use the ADTS 405 should be teste

K114 Issue No 9 3 26 Operation 3 17 o 3 18 SETUP and CONFIGuration The SETUP key provides access to secondary functions using a menu system extends the keyboard and allows many of the ADTS 405 functions to be customised All changes made under SETUP are temporary and will be lost when the system is switched off The range of options allowed in set up is determined by the set up mode Holding down the F1 key while pressing SETUP provides access to the CONFIGuration mode CONFIGuration is similar to SETUP with many identical functions The changes made under CONFIGuration are permanent and remain set after the system is switched off CONFIGuration can be used to change the power up default settings of the ADTS 405 functions Note Access to the CONFIGuration mode may be protected by a PIN Quick Reference The quick reference charts show full set up minimum set up and configuration functions In the key selection column the following applies ALT Key NEXT Item in menu soft key SINGLE DOUBLE Sequence of parameters selected by NEXT key craft1 craft2 Sequence of names selected by NEXT key data entry Enter number from key pad The display shows the main pressure display Leak Measure or Control mode Set up example Press SETUP and the display shows Pressing a function key F1 to F4 enters the set up menu When in set up pressing a key F1 Units ALT Ps in this example enters SETUP i

Pitot temperature 0t is used in the calculation of TAS To enter Ot Press SETUP Press SPEED Select Pt TEMPERATURE Enter the temperature measured by the aircraft s Pitot temperature sensor Press QUIT CLEAR three times to return to user display mm 3 O 9 O 50023232 Note Pitot temperature can only be changed in Full Set up mode K114 Issue No 9 3 22 Operation Airspeed Switch test The following example shows how an airspeed switch qn be functionally checked Note For low airspeed switches i e 130 knots the Pt Only facility could be used Press LEAK MEASURE CONTROL to enter control mode Press SPEED Qc If necessary press RATE and enter a change of airspeed low enough to observe switch operation Enter an Aim value below the operating limits of the switch i e airspeed switch operating at 130 knots 2 knots set 127 knots Press ENTER and observe the airspeed changing Using the nudge facility set to an appropriate step value increase the Aim value Increase the Aim until the switch operates contacts close and record the value Change the Aim to above the airspeed operating range i e 133 knots Repeat the steps decreasing the Aim value until the airspeed switch operates contacts open and record value This procedure can be repeated If many operations of a switch are required use the oscillating facility detailed in Full Set up The above method can be used for the other parameters E
