14. user The research done on this aspect of the project includes researching hypertension its causes contributing factors and the meaning of a blood pressure reading This gives the team an understanding of the medical aspect of blood pressure to ensure the system is giving accurate diagnostic More research will be done in the future as more components of the system come together 12 3 Technical Analysis The project s hardware system will be determined by the implementation that the team chooses to design from the three designs researched Whether reversed engineered Bluetooth enabled or fabricated by the development team the hardware consists of three major parts the air chamber motor control the pressure sensor driver and the wireless connectivity The air chamber motor control and pressure sensor will implement an oscillometric method for measuring blood pressure using pneumatic control The oscillometric method requires that the air chamber motor made up of a relay valve and a pump induce the intra arterial pulsation while the systolic and diastolic pressure the two pressures read in order to get a blood pressure level are estimated from the amplitudes of the oscillation using the pressure sensor The signal being transmitted from the pressure sensor will be filtered and converted into digital signal by an ADC The wireless connectivity component will then take care of transmitting that data from the microcontroller unit to the server
