7. and ensuing damage Appendix C Maintenance General Care Do not store or leave the instrument in where the LCD display will be exposed to direct sunlight for long periods of time Caution To avoid damage to the instrument or probes do not expose them to sprays liquids or solvents Cleaning If this instrument requires cleaning disconnect it from all power sources and clean it with a mild detergent and water Make sure the instrument is completely dry before recon necting it to a power source To clean the exterior surface perform the following steps 1 Remove loose dust on the outside of the instrument and probes with a lint free cloth Take care to avoid scratching the clear plastic display filter 2 Use a soft cloth dampened with water to clean the instrument Notice To avoid damage to the surface of the instrument or probes do not use any abrasive or chemical cleaning agents Storage of oscilloscope If the test tool is to be stored for a long time it is required to charge the lithium battery 100 DSO1000 SERIES HANDHELD OSCILLOSOPE before storage Charging the oscilloscope The lithium battery is possibly not charged when delivery To make the battery with enough electric quantity it must be charged for 4 hours the test tool must be turned off during charging The battery can supply power for 6 hours after being charged com pletely To avoid superheat of battery during charging the environment
