Tools menu the General option for the Reminder Alerts program displays the Alerts screen where administrators can set event reminders for which the selected program sends an e mail message when the event occurs In addition the Customizable Field Labels option 6 Page allows system administration personnel to customize the text and ToolTips found on standard Munis screens The View Database Columns option causes the program to display a copy of the screen with the database column header names included for each field The Help menu option provides access to About Munis and to Munis online help About Munis accesses program system and environment information which is useful when initiating a phone call to Munis Technical Support A technical support specialist may ask you to click this button to identify the version of the software you are using Munis programs operate differently or have different features depending on which version you are using Knowing which version of the software you are currently using enables Munis technical support to tailor solutions to your specific needs This option is only available on the Help menu Munis online help provides screen level help for programs and subprograms throughout Munis applications Each help screen includes an overview field descriptions table list of procedures and a resource table For select program tasks video tutorials are available which provide a visual depiction of the task or pro
3. the program displays the Excel Filter screen Use this screen to specify the data field values to export to Excel When you click Save or Save and Exit the program opens Excel with the selected data in the active worksheet In each case the program inserts hyperlinks in Excel to the individual Munis records Use the Save As feature in Excel to save the file to your preferred location The Word button creates an active set of records to export Export to Word into Microsoft Word This option enables you to format the report in Microsoft word prior to printing When you use the Word feature to export data using no predefined template the program displays the Export Filter screen Use this screen to specify the data field values to export to Microsoft Word When you click Save or Save and Exit the program opens Microsoft Word with the selected data in the active document An additional feature of Microsoft Word is mail Merge This feature enables you to print professional forms mailing labels directories and so on with user defined templates Send distributes an e mail that contains a link to the selected Munis record If the Send button is active when you are viewing a record click the button to create an e mail message that contains a hyperlink to the selected Munis record When the e mail recipient clicks the hyperlink Tyler Dashboard opens which in turn opens the Munis program with the linked record as the current record Note This featur

Wizard program with the Field tab displaying the fields and the type of fields in the active program 2 Type an expression directly into the Expression column or click the Format option to open the Edit Assistant Dropdown Assistant or Date Assistant Tab a Query Wizard opens the appropriate assistant for the type of field that you are querying 3 Build an Expression a List expression i Add items to include in your list expression b Range expression i Select the low value and high value for the range li Click the switch option to change between the range expression and the list expression c Click the Format again i The list or range expression you created appears in the Field tab d Click Execute to display the new active set of records created by the query To save a query for use at a later time click the Save As from the Field tab or one of the Assistant tabs Once you have created a query you can view or select them using the Load tab To remove an item from the Select List of Items on the Dropdown Assistant tab double click the item or press Enter to remove the item from the list Note When you save a query the program checks the entered description to see if it matches one that you have already entered This check is not case sensitive If the descriptions are the same the program allows you to save the new query in place of the old one You cannot save a public or private query with a description that another user h
7. applicable to the active program Enhancements When the button is lit yellow new enhancements are available once you view the enhancements the button is dimmed grey Munis Help accesses information about the program currently Munis Help open Online help includes a brief program overview a field descriptions table and common procedures 2 1 2 Other Shortcuts Other shortcuts available within Munis programs include the following e Press Tab to move forward to the next available field press Shift Tab to move back to a previous field e Press Spacebar to clear or select check boxes e Press Ctrl Tab to switch between active program windows e Press F9 in boxes that contain the field help button ZE to view the options for the active box e Press Spacebar to view options in a list Use Up and Down arrows to move through the options press Enter to select an option e Press Ctrl arrow to move through the records in an active set o Press Ctrl Down Arrow to move to the next record o Press Ctrl Up Arrow to move to the previous record o Press Ctrl Right Arrow to move to the last record in the active set and o Press Ctrl Left Arrow to move to the first record in the active set 10 Page CHAPTER 3 FINDING RECORDS IN MUNIS There are several ways to find existing records in Munis programs Most commonly click Find Q on the toolbar complete available fields and then click Accept D to create an active set of records that mat
8. as already used for a public query 3 3 Managing Selected Records An active set consists of records with information matching your search criteria You create an active set when you complete a search that produces multiple records that you can view and maintain At the bottom of a program screen a navigation bar displays the number of the record that you are currently viewing the total number of records and options to assist you with navigation You can view records in the active set one at a time or you can click Browse on the navigation bar to view a list of all records in the active set In the following example you are viewing record 1 of 25 and there are no attachments attached to the record ETER 1 of 25 J A f Attachments 0 om e d d s First Previous Find Browse Number of Attachments 14 Page To navigate the active set of records e Click First to view the first record in the active set record 1 e Click Previous to view the previous record If you are already at the first record it wont change the record you are looking at e Click Next to view record 2 of 25 e Click Last to view the last record in the active set record 25 e Click Find to create a new active set of records e Click Browse to view a list of all records in the active set The active set remains active until you perform another search or close the program 3 4 Browsing Records Once you have created an active set of records wit
9. cedure 2 1 Toolbar and Keyboard Shortcuts S A o BS Fos Sa VD es Ge eg CG The toolbar is your primary resource for performing actions within each program It provides a quick and easy way to access various program options without memorizing keyboard shortcuts or looking ata menu In addition to the toolbar there are menu and keyboard options available to help you use Munis programs efficiently 2 1 1 Toolbar The following table provides descriptions for the toolbar buttons If a toolbar button is grayed out the selection is not available KEYBOARD SHORTCUT Press Enter DESCRIPTION BUTTON Accept saves information after you have created or updated a record This button is often highlighted when adding updating or searching for records Press Esc Cancel ends an operation such as adding or updating a Cancel record without saving A Press Ctrl X Cut Copy Accept Press Ctrl V Paste Press Ctrl B Find searches for records in a program Find is often used to create an active set of records before proceeding to another step such as printing a report purging records or posting Find vp 7 Page invoices In many cases you can use wildcard characters to further define a search Press Ctrl B Browse is available when an active set of records exists or after an active set is created using the Find or Define buttons The browse screen displays a list of all the records in the active se

13. e requires that Tyler Dashboard be enabled F Exchange displays the Appointments screen which allows Exchange you to schedule meetings that are associated with the active record When you click Add on the Appointments screen the program allows you to create an e mail message containing meeting start and end times and a meeting description When the e mail recipient accepts the meeting invitation it is automatically added to his or her Exchange calendar Attach allows you to view add or delete documentation Attach related to the current record Once a file is attached it is copied and stored within the Munis program If you change the original document the attachment is not automatically updated To keep attachments current you must update the original documents and manually attach the updated files MapLink allows integration of map data sources within Munis MapLink programs We are not using this feature 9 Page Image opens the Tyler Content manager for Munis application These options provide content management capability specific to Munis programs If you access Munis programs using the Genero Web Client Tyler Content manager for Munis is not available JE Favorites adds the current program to the Favorites menu Favorites The Favorites menu is on the main Munis menu Use the Favorites menu to start or organize programs in your list of favorites TEES Munis Enhancements provides a link to current Munis enhancements that are
