1. CAUTION You must be able to safely lift 20 kg 45 Ibs in order to raise lower or move the treadmill 1 Hold the treadmill with your hands in the locations shown at the right CAUTION To decrease the possibility of injury bend your legs and keep your back straight As you raise the treadmill make sure to lift with your legs rather than your back Raise the treadmill about halfway to the vertical position 5 Note You must be able to safely lift 20 kg 45 Ibs in order to do this step Hold the treadmill with your hands in the locations shown CAUTION To decrease the possibility of injury bend your legs and keep your back straight As you raise the treadmill make sure to lift with your legs rather than your back Raise the treadmill to the vertical posi tion 2 Move your right hand to the position shown and hold the tread mill firmly Raise the treadmill until the latch pin is aligned with the hole in the handrail Slide the latch pin into the hole Make sure that the latch pin is inserted as far as possible into the hole Lock the pin by pressing the end of the pin into the slot in the storage latch as shown in the inset drawing To protect the floor or carpet from damage place a mat under the treadmill Keep the treadmill out of direct sun light Do not leave the treadmill in the storage position in temperatures above 30 C 85 F 6 Make sure that the Latch Pin 78 is in the Storage Latch 77 a

4. foot on the base and carefully lower the treadmill until it is resting in the storage position Front Wheels 1 Refer to drawing 2 above Hold the treadmill with your right hand as shown Using your left hand slide the latch 8 Make sure that all parts are tightened before you use the treadmill Keep the included allen wrench in a pin to the right Lock the pin in place by pressing the end of the pin into the slot in the storage latch as shown in secure place The allen wrench is used to adjust the walking belt see page 13 To protect the floor or carpet the inset drawing place a mat under the treadmill 2 Refer to drawing 1 above Hold the treadmill firmly with both hands and lower the treadmill to the floor To de crease the possibility of injury bend your legs and keep your back straight 10 HOW TO CHANGE THE INCLINE OF THE TREADMILL To vary the intensity of your exercise the incline of the treadmill can be changed There are two incline levels Before changing the incline remove the key and unplug the power cord To change the incline raise the back of the treadmill and rotate the incline leg until it rests against the treadmill frame as shown at the right CAUTION Before using the treadmill make sure that the frame is resting on the incline leg Low Incline Level Incline Leg High Incline Level Incline Leg OPERATION AND ADJUSTMENT THE PERFORMANT LUBE WALKING BELT Your trea
5. own phillips screwdriver two adjustable spanners 75 and 9 16 socket spanner If further assistance is needed please call our Customer Service Department at 08457 089009 1 With the help of a second person carefully raise the Right and Left Handrails 6 7 to the position shown 2 Using two adjustable spanners attach the Wheels 15 to the Base 80 with the two Wheel Bolts 14 and Wheel Nuts 42 as shown Do not overtighten the Wheel Bolts the Wheels should spin freely 3 With the help of a second person carefully tip the tread mill onto its left side Hold the Base 80 against the Right Handrail 6 and the Left Handrail not shown Make sure that the Wheels 15 are in the position shown Using a 9 16 socket spanner attach the Base 80 to the Right Handrail 6 with two Handrail Bolts 12 two Handrail Washers 85 and two Handrail Nuts 17 Do not tighten the Handrail Bolts yet Attach the Base to the Left Handrail not shown with two Handrail Bolts 12 two Handrail Washers 85 and two Handrail Nuts 17 Then tighten all four Handrail Bolts 12 Tip the treadmill back to the position shown in step 1 4 Loosen the two Console Bolts 9 underneath the Console 1 Rotate the Console to the position shown Push the Right and Left Handrails 6 7 inward as you tighten the two Console Bolts HOW TO FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL HOW TO FOLD THE TREADMILL FOR STORAGE Unplug the power cord

7. by carefully taking a few steps backward until the key is pulled from the console If the key is not pulled from the console adjust the position of the clip as necessary Follow the steps below to operate the console 1 Insert the key fully into the power switch Note Inserting the key will not turn on the display The display will turn on when the On Reset button is pressed or when the walking belt is started If you just installed batteries the display will already be on Fl Reset the console and start the walking belt Turn the speed control to the Reset position Note Each time the walking belt is stopped the speed control must be turned to the Reset position before the walking belt can be restarted Next slowly turn the speed control until the walk ing belt begins to move at slow speed Carefully step onto the walking belt and begin exercising Change the speed of the walking belt as desired by turning the speed control To stop the walking belt step onto the foot rails and turn the speed control to the Reset position E Follow your progress with the console display When the power is turned on the con m 4 amp sole will automatically i797 1237 mm scan through five modes A flashing mode indicator will show which mode is currently displayed The modes are described below Mode Indicator Speed This mode shows your speed in kilo metres per hour or miles per hour Time This mo

9. de shows the elapsed time Note If you stop exercising for ten seconds or longer the time mode will pause mmn Distance This mode shows the total number of kilometres or miles you have walked or run 44 Fat Calories This mode shows the approxi mate number of fat calories you have burned See BURNING FAT on page 14 A Calories This mode shows the approximate number of calories you have burned If desired reset the display by pressing the On Reset button When you are finished exercising stop the walking belt and remove the key Step onto the grip tape turn the speed control to the Reset position and remove the key from the console The display will turn off about six minutes after the key is removed Note The display will automatically turn off any time the walking belt is stopped and the On Reset button is not pressed for six minutes HOW TO SELECT KILOMETRES AND MILES The console can display distance and speed in either kilometres or miles To change the unit of measure ment first UNPLUG THE POWER CORD Next re move the four screws attaching the console to the con sole plate Lift the console a few inches being careful not to pull on the wires and turn the console over Locate the small switch on the back of the console Move the switch upward or downward to select kilome tres or miles Re attach the console to the console plate After changing the unit of measurement re move one of the batteries fr
10. demand on the heart to pump blood to the muscles and on the lungs to oxygenate the blood For aerobic exercise adjust the intensity of your exercise until your heart rate is near the middle of your training zone HOW TO MEASURE YOUR HEART RATE To measure your heart rate place two fingers on your wrist as shown Stop ex ercising and take a six second heartbeat count Multiply the result by ten to find your heart rate A six second count is used because your heart rate drops quickly when you stop exercising If your heart rate is too high decrease the intensity of your exercise If your heart rate is too low increase the intensity of your exercise WORKOUT GUIDELINES Each workout should include three basic parts 1 a warm up 2 training zone exercise and 3 a cool down Warming Up Warming up prepares the body for exercise by increas ing circulation delivering more oxygen to the muscles and raising the body temperature Begin each workout with 5 to 10 minutes of stretching and light exercise to warm up see SUGGESTED STRETCHES on page 15 16 Never leave the treadmill unattended whilst it is running Always remove the key and unplug the power cord when the treadmill is not in use 17 Do not attempt to raise lower or move the treadmill until it is properly assembled See ASSEMBLY on page 5 and HOW TO FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL on page 11 You must be able to safely lift 20 kg 45 Ibs in order t
11. dmill features a walking belt coated with PERFORMANT LUBE a high performance lubricant IMPOR TANT Never apply silicone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking platform Such substances will deteriorate the walking belt and cause excessive wear HOW TO PLUG IN THE POWER CORD This product must be earthed If it should malfunction or break down earthing provides a path of least resistance for electric current to reduce the risk of electric shock This product is equipped with a cord having an equipment earthing conductor and an earthing plug Socket on treadmill Two power cords are included Select the one that will fit your outlet Refer to drawing 1 and plug the indicated end of the power cord into the socket on the treadmill Refer to drawing 2 Plug the power cord into an appropriate outlet that is prop erly installed and earthed in accordance with all local codes and ordinances Note In Italy an adaptor not included must be used between the power cord and the outlet Important The treadmill is not compatible with GFCl equipped outlets A DANGER Improper connection of the equipment earthing conductor can result in an in creased risk of electric shock Check with a qualified electrician or serviceman if you are in doubt as to whether the product is properly earthed Do not mod ify the plug provided with the product if it will not fit the outlet have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electric
12. ian DIAGRAM OF THE CONSOLE MA WARNING stand on foot rails before starting treadmill read and understan the user s manual all instructions m 4 reduce risk of serious injury f Keep children away and the warnings before use eu Water Bottle Speed Control Holder Water bottle is not included If there is a thin sheet of clear plastic on the face of the con sole remove it A CAUTION before operating the console read the following precautions Do not stand on the walking belt when turn ing on the power Always wear the clip see the drawing above whilst operating the treadmill When the key is removed from the console the walking belt will stop Adjust the speed in small increments To reduce the possibility of electric shock keep the console dry Avoid spilling liquids on the console and use only a sealable water bottle o STEP BY STEP CONSOLE OPERATION Before the console can be operated two 1 5V batteries must be installed see assembly step 7 on page 6 Next make sure that the power cord is properly plugged in see HOW TO PLUG IN THE POWER CORD on page 7 Step onto the grip tape on the treadmill Find the clip attached to the key see the drawing above and slide the clip onto the waistband of your clothing Test the clip
13. ill help to prevent post exercise problems After warming up increase the intensity of your exer cise until your pulse is in your training zone for 20 to Exercise Frequency 60 minutes During the first few weeks of your exer cise program do not keep your pulse in your training To maintain or improve your condition complete three zone for longer than 20 minutes Breathe regularly workouts each week with at least one day of rest be and deeply as you exercise never hold your breath tween workouts After a few months you may com plete up to five workouts each week if desired Cooling Down The key to success is to make exercise a regular and Finish each workout with 5 to 10 minutes of stretching enjoyable part of your everyday life SUGGESTED STRETCHES The correct form for several basic stretches is shown at the right Move slowly as you stretch never bounce 1 Toe Touch Stretch Stand with your knees bent slightly and slowly bend forward from your hips Allow your back and shoulders to relax as you reach down toward your toes as far as possible Hold for 15 counts then relax Repeat 3 times Stretches Hamstrings back of knees and back 2 Hamstring Stretch Sit with one leg extended Bring the sole of the opposite foot to ward you and rest it against the inner thigh of your extended leg Reach toward your toes as far as possible Hold for 15 counts then relax Repeat 3 times for each leg Stretches Hamstrings lower

18. ot run please call our Customer Service Department PROBLEM The displays of the console do not function properly SOLUTION a Check the batteries in the console See assembly step 7 on page 6 Most problems are the result of drained batteries b Remove the key from the console and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD Remove the screws from the hood Carefully remove the hood Locate the Reed Switch 3 mm 53 46 and the Magnet 49 on the left side of the Pulley 26 53 Turn the Pulley until the Magnet is aligned with the Reed Switch Make sure that the gap between 46 the Magnet and the Reed Switch is about 3 mm 1 8 in If necessary loosen the Screw 26 and move the Reed Switch slightly Retighten the Screw Re attach the hood and run the treadmill for a few minutes to check for a correct speed reading m Top View ASSEMBLY Assembly requires two persons Set the treadmill in a cleared area and remove all packing materials do not dispose of the packing materials until assembly is completed Note The underside of the treadmill walking belt is coated with high performance lubricant During shipping a small amount of lubricant may be transferred to the top of the walking belt or the shipping carton This does not affect treadmill performance If there is lubricant on top of the walking belt simply wipe off the lubricant with a soft cloth and a mild non abrasive cleaner Assembly requires the included allen wrench and your
19. s shown HOW TO MOVE THE TREADMILL Attach the Storage Latch 77 to the Frame 55 with the three Screws 5 Do not tighten the Screws yet Position the Latch so that the Latch Pin 78 is aligned with the hole in the Left Handrail 7 Slide the Latch Pin into the hole as shown in the inset drawing Then tighten the three Screws Before moving the treadmill convert the treadmill to the storage position Make sure that the latch pin is fully inserted into the hole in the handrail and locked into place 1 Hold the handrails and place one foot on the base as shown 2 Tilt the treadmill back until it rolls freely on the front wheels Carefully move the treadmill to the desired location Never move the treadmill without tipping it back To reduce the risk of injury use extreme caution whilst moving the tread mill Do not attempt to move the treadmill over an uneven surface 7 The console requires two 1 5V batteries included Alkaline batteries are recommended To install batteries first touch the Handrail 6 to discharge any static Next open the Battery Cover 8 Press two batteries into the battery compartment with the negative ends of the batteries touching the springs Close the battery cover push up on the tab and then push the tab forward as shown in the inset drawing Be sure that the tab locks into place Battery Cover Tab HOW TO LOWER THE TREADMILL FOR USE 3 Place one
