1. position switch up and connect the power supply cord to a power outlet of the same voltage and frequency as detailed on the Product Identification Plate e To start the kettle heating push the switch to the ON position switch down The power indicator light will glow e When the water has boiled the kettle will switch OFF If required the water may be brought back to the boil by pressing the switch to ON http www orion ua 3 e The kettle may be switched OFF at any time by pressing the switch on the handle to the OFF position e IMPORTANT Make a habit of switching the power OFF at the power outlet before removing or replacing the kettle on the base or when the kettle is not attended e Do not use hot tap water to fill the kettle Use only cold water Allow the cold water to run for three to four seconds before filling the kettle e lf any plastic taste from the kettle is found it can be removed by filling the kettle to maximum and adding a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda to the water Boil and discard the water rinse out with cold water AUTOMATIC SAFETY CUT OUT An automatic cut out is fitted for protection against boil dry overheating It will operate if the kettle is switched on when containing insufficient water If this should occur switch off and remove the power cord from the power outlet Allow the kettle to cool for 10 minutes then refill with cold water and connect to power supply

CARE OF YOUR PRODUCT e Avoid the use of solvents polish abrasive or aerosol cleaners as they may damage surfaces of the product The inside of the kettle may be cleaned using a mild detergent however it must be thoroughly rinsed before re use Clean the exterior of the kettle by wiping with a slightly dampened soft cloth Make sure the kettle is thoroughly dried before reconnecting to the power Supply NOTE Do not immerse the base or kettle in water or any other liquid Furring up is a common problem in hard water areas and it is recommended to descale the kettle regularly To descale fill the kettle with 1L of water and add 50ml vinegar Bring to the boil and allow to stand overnight Next day reboil and pour away and refill the kettle with fresh water and bring to the boil again This water must also be poured away NOTE Normal commercial descalers for kettles may also be used Follow the instructions for the given descaler SERVICE 6 Do not operate the kettle with a damaged cord or plug or after the kettle malfunctions or appears damaged in any manner Return the complete kettle to the place of purchase or address noted in warranty information for inspection repair or replacement e In some products the replacement by the user of the flexible cord is not intended Special tools are required to dis assemble the product or replace the cord Return the complete product to the place of purchase or address noted in warranty
