13. ring to answer on 1 2 4 or 8 Number of Rings oer Tem amer Off AL 501N Rev 11 15 96 3 Installation Locate the AL 501N within close proximity to your telephone system control unit and within 6 feet ofa 110 VAC outlet The AL 501N is designed for either desktop or wall mount When locating be sure to leave clearance room for connection and adjustments Connect the DC power pack supplied with the system to the 12 VDC power connection on the side of the unit and plug the power pack into a 110 VAC outlet Set the LEVEL switch located on the back of the unit to the proper position for the sound or telephone system LO 8 Ohm or HI 1K Ohm Connect a cable from the AUDIO OUTPUT jack on the rear of the unit to the sound or telephone system input The AL 501N must be connected to a standard loop start telephone line coming directly from the telephone company Installation on a KSU or PBX extension will fail or cause undesired results Select the incoming line to be answered by the AL 501N and split the line at a point near the installation Connect one side of the split to the line s original destination Connect the other side of the split to the TELCO connection on the rear panel of the AL 501N To test the installation attach a standard analog telephone to the line you connected to the AL 501N If installation was successful you will be able to place outgoing calls and receive incoming calls using that phone After verif
