Appendix C Programming Examples Page 141 RME EAGLE User Manual Rain Master Irrigation Systems Project Public Park Project Description The table indicates the type of water flow which may be expected based on the use of some common sprinkler head types The greatest water volume demand is the large area rotors and would require a Main Line pipe size of two 2 inches The controller supports this as a standard pipe flow sensor size PIPE 2 00 please refer to B APPENDIX FLOW SENSOR PART LIST The flow metering device and Normally Closed Master Valve will be installed on the Main Water Line The following new features are added to our example 1 The installation will include the use of a Normally Closed Master Valve The controller will open the Master Valve at the start of any irrigation program 2 The installation will include the use of a flow monitoring sensor The controller will monitor the flow of water during programmed irrigation cycles and display the combined flow of all stations operating Any above limit water flow will be detected and the controller will shut down irrigation and alert you to the problem 3 The installation will include the use of a Rain Sensor If rain is detected the RME EAGLE will automatically turn off irrigation Once the rain storm is over and the sensor has dried out the controller will automatically restart the irrigation programs Table 12 Water Demand

EAGLE User Manual Rain Master Irrigation Systems 8 3 GENERATE THE REFERENCE PROGRAM Whether you are using the RME EAGLE ET feature or not it is important to enter a program that is representative of the conditions that are being irrigated The program should take into consideration several factors including the weather conditions for that time of year for your location the precipitation rate the rainfall the plant material that is being irrigated and site specific information i e direct sunlight vs shade etc It is important to have a representative program or reference program because the controller will make adjustments to this program over time If for example the initially established reference program results in over watering by 200 then the RME EAGLE will make intelligent adjustments but optimal water savings will never be achieved There are three ways to obtain a reference program for your irrigation controller 1 If you are familiar with the programming of your irrigated area because you have managed this operation over time you may best know what each of your station runtimes and the frequency of irrigation water days that best suits your needs Le There are software programs that can be utilized to aid you in determining a reference program One internet site to aid in scheduling is www wateright org Select the Scheduling option The Wateright site was developed by the Center for Irrigation Technology at
