MC 133 Power calibrator POWERTEK 5 Multimeter The calibrator includes a built in multimeter which can measure DC voltage DC current and frequency Measured signal should be connected to the METER INPUT terminals Terminals mA COM are for current measurements Terminals V COM are for voltage and frequency measurements The manufacturer does not recommend connection of multimeter inputs to calibrator outputs Such connection can result in presence of high voltage at multimeter inputs which can damage the multimeter 5 1 Function selection e Measurement function should be selected in Main menu item Meter e Press UP DOWN display buttons or use the rotary knob to select one of the following functions Voltage DC voltage range 10V Current DC current range 20mA Frequency frequency range 10 kHz x Notes The multimeter can be used as a DC multimeter with ranges 10V and 20mA Frequency measurement is possible up to 15 kHz Input signal must be within 0 2 to 5 V range Square wave or pulse shape of the input signal is expected 39 Operation manual POWERTEK MC 133 MC 133i Power calibrator 6 Calibrator setup menu Main menu The calibrator allows many other less frequently used parameters to be set Setup menu is used to set these parameters Setup menu is opened by pressing MENU button If output terminals are connected they will be disconnected and the following display

POWERTEK MC 133 MC 133i Power calibrator 10 Verification test Procedure recommended for verifying parameters of the calibrator is described in this chapter During tests it is not necessary access to the interior of the instrument Required equipment Following instruments are required for performance verification test e 81 2 digit multimeter type HP3458A or Fluke 8508A or other type with accuracy 0 01 on AC voltage e Multifuntion calibrator POWERTEK M142 or M140 with DCranges 10V 20mA and AC range 10V 15kHz e resistance shunt 10 mQ 100 mQ Burster 1280 or other type with accuracy 0 01 e counter HP 53181A HO 53130 BM 642 or other with accuracy 0 001 e powermeter 0 02 0 05 like Zimmer LMG9SREF Applied Precision RS2110S HP8903A Distortion analyzer and scope with bandwidth min 20 MHz 100 khz bandwidth is recommended for THD measuring of AC signals Configuration of the calibrator Calibrator should be tested directly from the front panel terminals To suppress influence of noise or interference with power line frequency in measuring circuit it is recommended following setting of the calibrator in Main menu 1 Current coil Coil Off Voltage sources GND GndUOn 3 Current sources GND GndI On Note If it is grounded neither calibrator nor standard meter higher level can occur on the output terminals In general when calibrator is connected to the standard meter ground loops can be arise through powe
