MARINC O instruction sheet RY504 2 30 marinco com Reverse Y Adapter Congratulations on buying your new Marinco Reverse Y Adapter We expect it will become an integral part of your shore power needs The following information will insure safe operation and years of trouble free service GENERAL Read the following instructions before using the Reverse Y The Marinco Reverse Y provides 30A of current from the dock into a 50A 125 250V boat electrical system Boats with 50A 125V inlets cannot use the Reverse Y The two 30A 125V dock side receptacles must be supplied from a common power source which generally provides from 208V to 250V between them otherwise the Reverse Y may not operate or your boat appliances may lack sufficient voltage WARNING To prevent electrocution or fire comply with the following DO NOT plug the Reverse Y into receptacles from two different power boxes The Reverse Y must receive power from a single source transformer Receptacles in different power boxes may receive their power from two different transformers DO NOT allow the Reverse Y to be immersed in water STORE the Reverse Y in a locker or lazarette while not in use ALWAYS USE the sealing collar provided with the Reverse Y to connect the boat s 50A shore power cord to the Reverse Y The sealing collar provides a weather resistant seal between the plug and the connector If the boat s shore power cord is not made by Marinco other pr2. ovisions may need to be made to make the connection weather resistant OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Before using the Marinco Reverse Y make certain that the shore power switch on the boat and the power switch at the dock are both off Connect the shore power cable to the boat and tighten the locking ring Attach the shore power cable to the Reverse Y then tighten the sealing collar between the Reverse Y and shore power cable to provide a weather resistant seal Insert both plugs of the Reverse Y into two 30A 125V receptacles on the dock Both receptacles must be contained within a single power box Turn on the dock power and then turn on the boat s electrical system The LED in the 50A connector on the Reverse Y should light indicating that power is now available to the boat if not check for one of the conditions listed below TROUBLE SHOOTING NO POWER OR PARTIAL POWER TO THE BOAT 1 Check for power to both dock side receptacle and make certain the dock side circuit breakers are on 2 Check for reverse polarity in one or both dock side receptacles 3 The Reverse Y was purchased with the intention of running your 208V appliances with 30A shore power not 50A However the marina wiring has to supply sufficient voltage between the two receptacles for this to work Verify with the marina what the nominal voltage is between the receptacles 4 If the Reverse Y LED is ON but only one phase of your boat s circuitry is active then it indicates tha
3. t there is a phase reversal situation at the dock 5 If the Reverse Y LED is OFF but one phase of the boat circuitry is operating then it indicates that the marina s shore power wiring is supplying less than the required voltages Please contact the marina electrician 6 If the Reverse Y cycles ON and OFF reduce non essential electrical loads to 30amps or less until cycling stops 7 When all of the above has been checked and there is still no power to the boat contact Marinco Technical Support at 1 800 307 6702 WARRANTY Marinco warrants that the products manufactured by Marinco are free from defects in workmanship or materials for a period of 5 years from the date of purchase This warranty does not apply to any defects caused by negligence misuse or accidents improper installation or use in violation of the intended purpose Contact Marinco Technical Support for details KEEP THESE INSTRUCTIONS WITH YOUR BOAT S SERVICE MANUAL g marinco com MAR_TL_014_0111 202113
