7. the United States Environ mental Protection Agency EPA and Chongqing Rato Power Co Ltd RATO are pleased to explain the emission control system warranty on your small off road engine In the United States and California new small off road engines must be designed built and equipped to meet the State s stringent anti smog standards RATO must warrant the emission control system on your small off road engine for the periods of time listed below provided there has been no abuse neglect or improper maintenance of your small off road engine Your emission control system may include parts such as the carburetor or fuel injection system the ignition system and catalytic converter Also included may be hoses belts connectors and other emission related assemblies Where a warrantable condition exists RATO will repair your small off road engine at no cost to you including diagnosis parts and labor MANUFACTURER S WARRANTY COVERAGE Emissions Control System is warranted for two years on small off road engine If any emission related part on your engine is defective the part will be repaired or replaced by RATO RATO provides warranty coverage for a period of two years OWNER S WARRANTY RESPONSIBILITIES As the small off road engine owner you are responsible for the perfor mance of the required maintenance listed in your owner s manual RATO recommends that you retain all receipts covering maintenance on your small off road engine but RA

10. handle to the down position Never use the handle to lift the generator The handle should only be used for moving the unit by rolling it on its wheels CHECKING ADDING LUBRICANT See Figure 7 NOTICE Attempting to start the engine before it has been properly filled with lubricant will result in equipment failure Engine lubricant has a major influence on engine perfor mance and service life For general all temperature use SAE 10W 30 is recommended Always use a 4 stroke motor lubricant that meets or exceeds the requirements for API service classification SJ This engine comes with a feature that will shut off the engine when a specific oil level is not maintained The engine will not restart until an appropriate oil level is reached NOTE Non detergent or 2 stroke engine lubricants will damage the engine and should not be used E Unscrew the oil cap dipstick and remove E Wipe dipstick clean and re seat in hole do not re thread E Remove dipstick again and check lubricant level Lubri cant level should fall between the hatched areas on the dipstick E Iflevelis low add engine lubricant until the fluid level rises to the upper portion of the dipstick E Replace and secure the oil cap dipstick USING FUEL STABILIZER Fuel gets old oxidizes and breaks down over time Adding a fuel stabilizer not included extends the usable life of fuel and helps prevent deposits from forming that can clog the fuel system F

12. m Remove the spark plug cap E Clean any dirt from around base of spark plug E Remove spark plug using wrench not included Inspect spark plug for damage and clean with a wire brush before reinstalling If insulator is cracked or chipped spark plug should be replaced For replacement spark plug see Product Specifications earlier in this manual or the accompanying engine manual if applicable E Measure plug gap The correct gap is 0 028 0 031 in 0 7 0 8 mm To widen gap if necessary carefully bend the ground top electrode To lessen gap gently tap ground electrode on a hard surface E Seat spark plug in position thread in by hand to prevent cross threading E Tighten with wrench to compress washer If spark plug is new use 1 2 turn to compress washer appropriate amount If reusing old spark plug use 1 8 to 1 4 turn for proper washer compression NOTE An improperly tightened spark plug will become very hot and could damage the engine CLEANING THE EXHAUST PORT AND MUFFLER Depending on the type of fuel used the type and amount of lubricant used and or your operating conditions the exhaust port and muffler may become blocked with carbon deposits If you notice a power loss with your gas powered products you may need to remove these deposits to restore perfor mance We highly recommend that only qualified service technicians perform this service Page 15 English MAINTENANCE SPARK ARRESTOR See Fig
