25. s 3 ENGLISH 10 3 When starting after long periods of inactivity the start up operations listed above must be repeated 11 MAIN TENANCE AND CLEANING In normal operation the pump does not require any specific maintenance However it may be necessary to clean the wetted parts when a decrease in performance is observed The pump must not be dismantled unless done by a skilled personnel in possession of the qualifications required by the regulations in force In any case all repairs and maintenance must be carried out only after having disconnected the pump from the power supply 12 MODIFICATIONS AND SPARE PARTS Any non authorized modification of the pump relieves the manufacturer of all responsibility All the spare parts used in repairs must be original and the accessories must be approved by the manufacturer so as to be able to guarantee maximum safety of the machines and systems in which they may be fitted INSTRUCTIONS FOR ADJUSTING THE PRESSURE SWITCH 1 Establish the minimun desired pressure setting discharge from the pump 2 Setthe storage tank preload pressure 3 0 psi less than the minimun pressure level 3 Calibrate it following the indications given below inside the pressure switch 14 TROUBLESHOOTING FAULT 1 The motor does CHECKS possible cause Check the electrical connections not start and B Check that the motor has power makes no noise C Check the fuses Circuit Breakers D Check
26. that the pressure switch is live E Ensure that the tank preload pressure is not higher than the minimun value of the pressure switch Ensure that the power supply voltage is the same as the value on the motor nameplate Ensure that the electrical connections have been made correctly Look for possible blockages in the pump or motor Check the condition of the capacitor Check the voltage which may be insufficient Check whether any rotating components are rubbing The pump has not been primed The diameter of the suction pipe is too small Blocked foot valve A The suction pipe or the foot valve is taking in air B The downward slope of the suction pipe favours the formation of air pockets The motor does not start but makes noise he motor turns with difficulty 4 The pump does not deliver water The pump does not prime CORRECTION C Change Fuses or reset breakers N B If the fault is repeated immediately this means that the motor is short circuiting E Set the preload pressure 3 0 psi below the minimun value of the pressure switch Correct errors Remove the blockage Replace the capacitor Eliminate the cause of the interference Prime the pump according to instructions Replace the pipe with a larger diameter one Clear and clean the foot valve Correct the problem and prime again Correct the slope inlcine of the suction 6
