This is the most common scenario The user scans a price embedded barcode reduces the price and prints a new label containing a barcode with the reduced price FFPPPPPXCCCCY Source barcode FFPPPPPXCCCCY Target barcode The LabelFormats are the same so set the Output Format to lt Same as Scanned gt Setting it to lt Same as Scanned gt will have the effect that the new barcode will be generated in the same Format as is defined in this screen and the Print Layout setting will be used to generate the new label lt Same as Scanned gt works for cases where the source barcode the one scanned is a price embedded barcode and after discount is applied you wish to simply re print the same style of barcode The CCCC price of the SourceBarcode is presented to the user for application of the discount then the discounted price is output to the CCCC portion of the printed barcode Output Format scenario 2 Non price EAN13 as Source barcode This scenario is for cases where say a CokeCan style EAN 13 is the barcode that is scanned then after discount is applied a new price embedded label say in Code 128 form is required to be sent to the printer For this scenairo the Output Format setting needs to be set to the format definition of the barcode to be printed FFPPPPPPPPPPP is the way to describe an EAN 13 in this case FFFFPPPPPPPPPPPCCCCC is the way to describe appending price The FFFF portion of the Output Format s Format definition

18. e NOW price will be copied to the CCCC portion of the target barcode There is another sub scenario for this style it is where the resultant target barcode is rescanned for a further discount Should the FFFFPPPPPPBBBBXCCCCC barcode be scanned then the BBBB original price will be presented to the user for discounting in a manner as if the FFPPPPPPCCCCX had been scanned Hope you are coping with that wee wiggle because there is one more sub scenario for this type that need to share with you FFPPPPPPCCCCX is the way to describe the source barcode FFFFPPPPPPAAAAXCCCCC is the way to describe the target barcode The sharp amongst you would have identified that the BBBB portion has changed to be AAAA and will be asking how come The answer is that there is no difference in the output after the first scan that is after the FFPPPPPPCCCCX was scanned both give the same result However when a rescan is done of the FFFFPPPPPPBBBBXCCCCC type the BBBB price will be re presented to the user as the price to be discounted in same manner as if user had re scanned the original FFPPPPPPCCCCX barcode In contrast when a rescan is done of the FFFFPPPPPPAAAAXCCCCC type the CCCC price will be presented to the user as the price to be discounted The AAAA will still be output into the target barcode as AAAA In both cases the CCCC portion of the FFPPPPPPCCCCX barcode is retained unchanged no matter how many times the resultant AAAA or BBBB
