Optional The Smart Plugs are used to boost the wireless signal around the house Once it is placed in a room it must remain in place and be turned on at the switch in the wall The LED on the front does not need to be lit for the plug to boost the signal Once installed all of the devices rely on this being present to communicate with the Genius Hub ON OFF Lamps can be plugged into the smart plugs and the red LED on the front indicates if anything plugged into it is on The socket is rated to 3 000W so do not plug any high power devices such as heaters or kettles into It Overload When overload state occurs the socket is disabled and the LED flashes on and off alternately at 0 5 second intervals The overload state can be cleared by unplugging and reconnecting the socket to the wall outlet 33 Changing the batteries Thermostat Front The thermostat requires 2 x AAA batteries Supplied The batteries are designed to give approximately one years use To change the batteries the thermostat must be removed from the wall First loosen the two screws under the thermostat and swing the thermostat up and away from the wall plate Rechargeable batteries may not be used as their voltage is too low 1 2V not 1 5V Radiator Valve The radiator valves require 2 x AA batteries Access these under the cover and use your nail to release the catch Batteries will last one year under normal operatio

11. diator the valve shows a number of icons Pressing any of the three buttons around the edge brings on the display 21 is the target set temperature When a room is active this is the temperature the system is trying to achieve When the room is up to temperature or is not in use the temperature returns to 4 The Room Sensor Optional The room sensor measures the temperature in the room and determines whether or not the room is being used It communicates the Genius Hub wirelessly When the battery becomes low the unit will flash red when it detects occupancy The room sensor requires 1 x CR123 battery To change the battery see the installation manual Advanced setting for Footprint Mode When you first install the system you may need to adjust the sensitivity of the rooms so the occupancy recorded on the charts is as you expect Look at the charts for the room in question and adjust the sensitivity up or down depending on if you see more or less occupancy than you would have expected The sensitivity setting can be found under the SETUP and then within the individual room After 24 hours with the new sensitivity look at the charts again to check you are happy with the change in sensitivity Once this is set up it should not need to be adjusted If you have pets you will need to reduce the sensitivity to stop the pets bringing the rooms on when you are not at home 32 The Smart Plugs
