1. Controller Mounting The controller must be mounted to an electrically conductive grounded surface at all 6 mounting points using the components outlined below 6 electrically conductive screws not supplied o type UNC No 8 o length customer specific depending on mounting site 6 electrically conductive tooth shaped lock washers NOTE You will need to determine the length of the screws required to attach the Spectra Physics module controller to your mounting position IMPORTANT In all installations the controller card should be mounted in a way that the exposed electronics is not accessible to an end user To protect against issues that could result from electrostatic discharge from an end user the only parts of the controller that should be possible to physically touch are the RS232 interface connector the umbilical cable connector and the analog interface connector if installed Each module controller comes pre assembled with 6 standoffs for mounting purposes Each standoff requires one UNC No 8 screw not supplied See Controller Diagram in Ch 4 Place module controller with all stand off pins on the flat electrically conductive mounting surface and use screws to attach Each standoff can be carefully removed and any number of custom mounting techniques can be used If you choose to mount using another method ensure that there is adequate electrical conductivity between the module controller and mounting surfa
