1. 3. ttach leg mounting boards to wall using both Liquid Nail adhesive and appropriate hardware for mounting structure I E molly or toggle bolts into drywall and tapping or drywall screws into wood studs etc Step 4 Set legs back up against mounting boards and place cap on legs Check fit and appearance Make adjustments as needed Once mantel cap is in proper position lightly mark a line along the top back edge of cap Step 5 Measure thickness of top board in cap measure down from first mark and scribe a parallel line below original line This represents the location of the top of cap mounting board Step 6 Attach cap mounting board to wall using a generous amount of Liquid Nail and appropriate hardware for mounting structure I E molly or toggle bolts into drywall and tapping or drywall screws into wood studs etc Step 7 Place legs in position against mounting boards Attach legs to mounting boards with small finishing nails or wood screws approximately every 12 18 Step 8 Place backboard BB into slot on inside leg returns with backboard return facing down roughly 3 of BB will extend into leg cavity Attach backboard to legs using small finishing nails and Liquid Nail adhesive Step 9 Place cap back onto legs backboard and cap mounting board Attach cap to mounting board with a liberal amount of Liquid Nail adhesive and finishing nails every 12 18 Step 10 Fill all nail holes and if necessary trim the inside of
