1. To hang your fan where there is an existing fixture but no ceiling joist you may need an installation hanger bar UU not included as shown above Assembly Standard Ceiling Mounting 1 Preparing the canopy 2 Preparing the motor Remove the clevis pin KK and cotter pin LL and loosen the two collar setscrews MM from the motor collar Remove the canopy ring B from the canopy C Remove the two non slotted mounting bracket screws BB from the canopy C and loosen the slotted mounting bracket screws BB on the canopy C Remove the hanger ball VV from the hanger ball downrod assembly E by loosening the setscrew 00 removing the cross pin NN and sliding ball VV off downrod WW NN o D CI Remove the canopy C from the mounting bracket A by turning the canopy C counterclockwise BB p AX SZ 3 Assembling the fan WARNING Failure to properly install the cotter pin LL could result in the fan loosening and possibly falling NOTE If a longer downrod not included is needed take out the screw located in the hanger ball lower the hanger A ball and remove the pin Remove all three pieces from the downrod and assemble them onto the new longer downrod before proceeding to the downrod installation Carefully feed the motor wires up through the downrod WW Thread the

Connect the black wire XX from the fan to the black wire AAA marked TO MOTOR L from the receiver EE Connect the white wire ZZ from the fan to the white wire BBB marked TO MOTOR N from the receiver EE Connect the blue wire YY from the fan to the blue wire CCC marked For Light from the receiver EE Receiver to house supply wires electrical connections Connect the black hot wire FFF from the ceiling to the black wire DDD marked AC in L from the receiver EE Connect the white neutral wire GGG from the ceiling to the white wire EEE marked AC in N from the receiver EE 13 If your outlet box TT has a ground wire HHH green or bare copper connect it to the fan ground wires Ill otherwise connect the hanger ball downrod assembly E ground wire to the mounting bracket A Secure each wire connection with a plastic wire nut AA provided with the electrical hardware After connecting the wires spread them apart so that the green and white wires are on one side of the outlet box TT and the black and blue wires are on the other side Carefully tuck the wire connections up into the outlet box TT HOMEDEPOT COM HOMEDECORATORS Please contact 1 800 527 0998 for further assistance Assembly Hanging the Fan continued fa Standard ceiling mounting 7b Close to ceiling mounting WARNING Locking slots

This remote control unit is equipped with 16 code combinations to prevent possible interference from or to other remote units The frequency switches on your receiver EE and remote control FF have been preset at the factory Please recheck to make sure the switches on A the remote control FF and the receiver EE are set to the Pa same position Any combination of settings will operate the fan as long as the switches in the remote control FF and receiver EE are set to the same position After checking the switches insert the receiver EE into the mounting bracket A with the flat side of the receiver EE facing the ceiling 12 Assembly Hanging the Fan continued 7 Making the electrical connections B NOTE The fan must be installed at a maximum distance of 20 feet from the remote control for proper signal transmission between the remote control and the fan s receiving unit CAUTION Do not use with a wall light dimmer switch ZAN WARNING Check to see that all connections are tight including ground and that no bare wire is visible at the wire nuts except for the ground wire Follow the steps below to connect the fan to your household wiring Use the plastic wire nuts AA with your fan Secure the wire nuts AA with electrical tape Make sure there are no loose strands or connections Motor to receiver electrical connections
4. 14 Assembly Attaching the Fan Blades 8 Attaching the Fan Blades bend the blades H while installing balancing the blades H i WARNING To reduce the risk of personal injury do not or cleaning the fan WARNING Remove the three rubber packing mounts LLL from the fan motor assembly G and discard prior to attaching the blades H WARNING Do not insert foreign objects between rotating fan blades H Insert the blade H through the slot in the housing Align the holes in the blade H the blade support plate I and the fan motor assembly G and secure with a blade attachment screw and fiber washer CC Repeat this procedure with the remaining blades H CC 15 HOMEDEPOT COM HOMEDECORATORS Please contact 1 800 527 0998 for further assistance Assembly Installing the Light Kit 9 Attaching the light kit mounting 1 Attaching the light kit to plate to the mounting ring Remove one of the three light kit mounting plate screws RR from the mounting ring MMM and loosen the other two screws Do not remove Place the key holes in the light kit mounting plate J over the two screws RR previously loosened from the mounting ring MMM Turn the light kit mounting plate J until the light kit mounting plate J locks in place at the narrow section of the key holes Secure by tightening the two mounting plate screws RR
5. 18 Operation continued REVERSE SWITCH OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS The reverse switch is located on the top of the motor housing Slide the switch to the left for warm weather operation Slide the switch to the right for cool weather operation NOTE Wait for the fan to stop before reversing the direction of the blade rotation Warm weather Counterclockwise Direction A downward air flow creates a cooling effect This allows you to set your air conditioner on a warmer setting without affecting your comfort Cool weather Clockwise Direction An upward air flow moves warm air off the ceiling This allows you to set your heating unit on a cooler setting without affecting your comfort ma ee Nad Care and Cleaning Do Check the support connections brackets and blade attachments twice a year Make sure they are secure Because of the fan s natural movement some connections may become loose over time It is not necessary to remove the fan from the ceiling Clean your fan periodically Use only a soft brush or lint free cloth to avoid scratching the finish The plating is sealed with a lacquer to minimize discoloration or tarnishing Optional Apply a light coat of furniture polish to the wood blades Optional Cover small scratches with a light application of shoe polish Do not Use water when cleaning Water could damage the motor

10. 998 for further assistance Installation MOUNTING OPTIONS WARNING To reduce the risk of fire electric shock or personal injury mount the fan to an outlet box marked acceptable for fan support using the screws provided with the AN outlet box An outlet box commonly used for the support of lighting fixtures may not be acceptable for fan support and may need to be replaced If in doubt consult a qualified electrician NOTE You may need a longer downrod to maintain proper blade clearance when installing on a steep sloped ceiling A The maximum angle allowable is 18 away from horizontal If the canopy C touches the hanger ball downrod assembly E then remove the decorative canopy bottom cover D and turn the canopy C 180 before attaching the canopy C to the mounting bracket A If your ceiling fan does not have an existing UL listed mounting box then install one using the following instructions Disconnect the power by removing the fuses or turning off the circuit breakers Secure the outlet box TT not included directly to the building structure Use appropriate fasteners and materials not included The outlet box and its bracing must be able to fully support the weight of the moving fan at least 35 Ibs Do not use a plastic outlet box The illustrations below show three different ways to mount the outlet box TT not included TT UU N a N TT
