1. These Installation Instructions Apply To The Following Light Kit Models 173 Bowl Lights For use with the following TroposAir ceiling fan models Portions 1993 Gulf Coast Fans Inc Printed With Permission Light Kit Installation Instructions Light Kit Weight READ AND SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS TO AVOID RISK OF FIRE OR ELECTRIC SHOCK TURN OFF THE POWER AT THE SOURCE ALL ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS MUST BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH LOCAL AND NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODES CAUTION To reduce the risk of fire or electrical shock the light kit should only be used with TroposAir ceiling fan models Before starting installation disconnect the power by turning off the circuit breaker or removing the fuse at the fuse block Turning off power using fan switch speed control on off is not sufficient to prevent electrical shock 1 Remove all of the parts from package 2 Remove the Switch Cup from the fan if it Mm g is already assembled There are three screws around the upper portion of the cup holding it in place you may need to remove them all or only remove one and loosen the other two depending on the design of the switch cup Disengage the wire connector Fig 1 3 Remove the center screw plug from the center hole of the switch cup Also Fig 1 4 Feed both of the light kit wires through the center hole together and up through the middle of the wiring and components While keeping the light kits Remov2. e wires from twisting thread Center the switch cup onto the ai light kit until it is snug 5 Feed both of the light kit wires through the split FIG 2 washer and nut provided Thread these onto the light kit s threaded post and tighten securely Fig 2 Je Smal Screwdriver Mens Terminal 6 Identify the Terminal Block the small plastic connector where the fan s blue and white wires end marked For Light This is where the light kit s wires will connect Also identify the small screwdriver tool provided to secure the wires into the Terminal Block 7 Insert the light kits Black wire into the port in the Terminal Block in line with the fan s Blue wire Using the small screwdriver tool tighten the tiny screw in the terminal block against the bare end of the wire to secure it Insert the light kits White wire into the remaining open port of the terminal block and tighten the screw to secure the wire end Make sure these set screws are tight enough to prevent the wires from coming loose 8 Reattach the wire connector of the switch cup to the fan The connector is color ae and notched to fit only one way ig 9 Reattach the switch cup to the fan using the three screws loosened and or removed earlier e Zl f LA cca Cup and Ao Light Kit Ys to Fan 10 a Install the light bulbs o Remove the loose hex nut and washer s from the threaded rod 11 a Carefully raise the Glas
3. s Bowl up to the fitter Guide the center hole to the pull chain from the light kit then guide the offset hole to the fan s pull chain Raise the bowl so that the threaded rod extends through the center hole of the bowl Hold glass in place and secure with hex nut and washer s o Position the Cap guiding the pull chains through their respective holes in the cap Feed the light kit s pull chain center through the finial and thread the finial onto the threaded rod securing the Cap to the bowl and fitter OFFSET ED HOLE B FINIAL A 12 Attach the pull chain knob to the pull chain Fig 6 Turn the power source back on and you are done Pull the light kits pull chain to turn on and off FIG 6 Note if the light does not turn on check that the blue wire at the top of the fan in the canopy is connected to the power source
