Xantech PN 0601 7600 connect one end into a spare emitter port on the 789 44 Connecting Block or other and the opposite end into the Green jack on the rear of the Receiver marked Multi Room amp Source REMOTE IN Page 1 of 2 xantech Cc ae AA 04 Interfacing with Pioneer VSX 45TX In addition to the above IR Repeater setup you will also need to enable the receiver as follows 1 Configure the Multiroom setup for IR Receiver operation see page 76 of the Pioneer VSX 45TX manual a b c d Turn ON the Receiver and press the SYSTEM Setup button on the Remote Using the UP DOWN cursors select the MULTI ROOM Menu Select the IR Receiver sub menu Set the IR Receiver to OTHERS choice is PIONEER or OTHERS and exit the menu This will disable the 5VDC signal Note If after making SYSTEM SETUP changes the IR stops working simply unplug the VSX 45TX from the AC Source wait 5 10seconds and plug back in resetting the port Page 2 of 22. xantech Cc ae AA 04 Interfacing with Pioneer VSX 45TX Symptom Solution Unable to control a Pioneer VSX 45TX Receiver via the Multi Room amp Source REMOTE IN jack on the rear of the receiver This requires any one of Xantech s IR Receivers 291 480 490 or 780 Series 781RG Power Supply with a standard connecting block CB12 789 44 etc and a 3 5mm Stereo Mini Plug to Stereo Mini Plug cable This is a DIRECT Connect application with a standard emitter out but requires a Stereo Mini Plug instead of a Mono Mini Plug NOTE Do not use a mono mini plug when connecting to the MR amp S Remote IN Jack on the rear of the receiver The Pioneer VSX 45TX MR amp S Remote IN jack outputs a 5VDC voltage on the RING of the Stereo Mini Jack Using a Mono Mini Plug will short this voltage to ground and possibly damage the unit 1 To operate the receiver from a remote room connect the system as follows see Figure 1 for reference 291 10 or 80 IR Receiver IR Remote 3 5mm Stereo Mini to Stereo Mini Cable m To Multi Room amp Source REMOTE IN Jack on rear Pioneer VSX 45TX CD Changer C joo ca bvr 68L 283M Emitter Cassette Deck O g 490718 ONILOANNOO 24AWG to 18AWG 3 Conductor Wire oo fe 283M Emitter Figure 1 Sample IR Repeater setup configuration 2 Using a 3 5mm Stereo Mini Plug cable
