5. e illuminated when in the on position 6 When water boils the kettle will shut off automatically The on off switch will be in the off position and will no longer be illuminated Caution Grip the jug by the handle only as kettle surface may be hot 7 Always unplug the kettle before pouring 8 To refill the kettle first check the water level indicators and then if necessary fill with cold water 9 Repeat steps 3 7 Note Keep kettle cord away from hot surfaces After use disconnect the kettle and empty Never leave a hot kettle unattended MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS This appliance requires little maintenance It contains no user serviceable parts Do not try to repair it yourself Refer it to qualified personnel if servicing is needed TO CLEAN Be sure kettle is unplugged and is cool to the touch Wipe surfaces with a soft damp cloth or sponge Liquid detergent applied on a moist cloth may be used to remove spots Do not use abrasive scouring pads or cleaners this will damage the surface NEVER IMMERSE KETTLE IN WATER OR OTHER LIQUIDS Mineral deposits may occasionally form inside of the kettle depending on the water hardness and frequency of the kettle use Build up of mineral deposits may impair the kettle performance by reducing the boiling speed and efficiency To remove mineral deposits 1 Use a solution of 5 vinegar and 95 water and fill the kettle to the maximum water mark 2 Boil once 3 Let solution
