Temperature Control Both must be on a setting for the oven to heat THE OVEN SELECTOR With the Oven Selector on BAKE the bottom element does most of the work The top element heats but does not turn red Baking pg 25 With the Oven Selector on BROIL only the fop element heats Broiling pg 27 THE OVEN TEMPERATURE CONTROL When both the Oven Selec tor and Temperature Control are on BROIL the broil ele ment heats ail the time The Use the Oven Temperature Control to set baking or roast ing temperature when the Oven Selector is on BAKE or TIMED With the Oven Selector on TIMED the MEALTIMER Clock can be used to turn the oven on and off automatically MEALTIMER Clock pg 26 Tmk Oven Temperature Control can be set on a temperature for slower broiling see Broil ing page 27 BAKING OR ROASTING 4 Put the rack s where you want them before turning on the oven Rack s should be placed so food can be centered in the oven Always leave at least 1 2to 2 inches 4 5 cm between the sides of fhe pan and the oven walls and pans For more information see the Cooking Guide ee Sic Lift rack at front and pull out 24 BAKE lowe Oven iower oven Set the Oven Temperature Let the oven preheat until the Control to the baking Signal Light goes off temperature you want 6 During baking the elements will turn on and off fo

9. best results and to prevent damage to the range Specialty items with rounded or ridged bottoms woks ridged bottom canners or tea kettles are not recommended See the Cooking Guide for important utensil information SEE THE COOKING GUIDE FOR IMPORTANT CANNING INFORMATION 29 Cleaning and caring for your range CONTROL PANEL AND KNOBS SURFACE UNITS AND REFLECTOR BOWLS REMOVING 4 First make sure lower oven and surface unit control knobs are set on OFF All knobs pull straight off Surface unit knobs have a collar and spring 2 Lift the edge of the unif opposite the re ceptacle just enough to clear the reflector bow 2 Use warm soapy water and a soft cloth to wipe the panel Rinse and wipe dry Terminal Receptacle 3 Wash knobs and surface unit collars in 3 Puii the surface unit straight away from the warm soapy water Rinse well and dry receptacle Put small end of spring closest to control panei 4 Push knobs straight back on Make sure il Bow Opening they point to OFF Make sure the collar and spring on surface unit knobs are put to 4 Lift out the reflector bow and trim ring 30 gether as shown REPLACING 4 While pushing the surface unit terminal into the receptacle lift a little on the edge of the unit nearest the receptacle 4 Be sure surface unit controls are OFF Receptacle 5 When the terminal is pushed into the re ceptac

11. full power SIGNAL LIGHTS A Signal Light comesion every time you touch a Command Pad While the oven is running the Signal Light or lights will be onto show you what the oven is doing When the range is first plugged in the Clock Display shows 88 88 If the electric power ever goes off the Clock Display will also show all 8 s when the power comes back cn You can cook or use the Minute Timer without setting the clock but the display will be blank after cooking The oven door must be closed before setting the clock DO THIS THIS HAPPENS oo mn The word sef will glow on the display Start HH HI touching number pads for the desired time CLOCK S within 5 seconds 4 Touch CLOCK The Display will show what numbers you touched In the order you touched them This example shows 3 25 2 Touch number pads for the correct time of day 3 Touch START The START Signal Light will come on to show that you have touched START It will go off in about seconds The clock is set wn USING THE MINUTE TIMER The Minute Timer does not start or stop cooking it works like a kitchen timer Set in minutes or seconds and you will hear a beep when the set time is up The oven door must be closed before setting the Minute Timer DO THIS THIS HAPPENS The MINUTE TIMER Signal Light will come on MINUTE 5 and the Display will show a 0 Within 5 TIMER seconds start touching num

13. sides of opening drawer slide rails clear drawer closed white stops on drawer guides 32 THE LOWER OVEN SELF CLEANING CYCLE The lower oven self cleaning cycle uses very high heat to burn away soil Before you start make sure you understand exactly how to use the cycle safely BEFORE YOU START 4 Clean areas that may not be cleaned during the cycle Use hot water and deter Ciean Frame gent ora soapy steel wool pad on e the frame around the oven e the inside of the door especially the part outside the oven seal DO NOT try to clean the fiberglass seal DO NOT move Ht or bend It 2 Remove any pots or pans you may have stored in the oven They can t stand the high heat 3 Wipe out any loose soil or grease This will help reduce smoke during the cleaning cycle 4 Make sure the motor socket cover is closed if your oven has rotisserie 5 Put oven racks on the top two guides Put two reflector bowls upside down on each They should not touch each other or the oven walls Clean Door Chrome trim rings must not be cleaned in the oven They will become disco lored High heat will also discolor oven racks See special tips on page 35 SPECIAL CAUTIONS DO NOT biock the vent DO NOT touch the oven during the cleaning cycle during the cleaning cycle Air must move freely for it can burn you best results Se A lt r DO NOT use commercial DO NOT force the Lock DO NOT use foil or other oven cleaners
