MARK OFF appears in the display The track mark is erased and the two tracks are combined When you erase a track mark the date time and name assigned to the mark are also erased Notes e When you erase a track mark between the two tracks that are registered into different groups the second track is re registered into the group containing the first track In addition if you combine a track that is registered to a group with a track that is not registered to a group the second track takes the same registration setting as the first track However when the group function is on you can only combine tracks within the selected group e You cannot erase track marks according to the system limitations For details see System limitations page 83 Erasing tracks or groups CANCEL To erase a track Note that once a recording has been erased you cannot retrieve it Make sure of the track you are erasing 1 While playing the track you want to erase press the jog dial turn the dial until EDIT flashes in the display and then press the dial again The recorder plays the selected track repeatedly 2 Turn the jog dial until Je Erase flashes in the display and then press the dial Erase OK appears and PushENTER flashes in the display To cancel erasing press CANCEL 3 Press the jog dial again The track is erased and the next track starts to play All the tracks after

21. a while or disconnect the power source reconnect it and then press any of the operation buttons Ass System limitations The recording system in your MiniDisc recorder is radically different from those used in cassette and DAT decks and is characterized by the limitations described below Note however that these limitations are due to the inherent nature of the MD recording system itself and not to mechanical causes Symptom TR FULL appears even before the disc has reached the maximum recording time 60 74 or 80 minutes and the recording cannot be done Cause When 254 tracks have been recorded on the disc TR FULL appears regardless of the total recorded time More than 254 tracks cannot be recorded on the disc To continue recording erase unnecessary tracks TR FULL appears even before the disc has reached the maximum track number or recording time Repeated recording and erasing may cause fragmentation and scattering of data Although those scattered data can be read each fragment is counted as a track In this case the number of tracks may reach 254 and further recording is not possible To continue recording erase unnecessary tracks Track marks cannot be erased The remaining recording time does not increase even after erasing numerous short tracks When the data of a track is fragmented the track mark of a fragment under 12 seconds long recorded in SP stereo 2
