2. only by a qualified service person Caution Always allow heater to cool before attempting service Warranty ONE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY This SOLARIS patio heater is warranted to the original owner within the 48 continental states for one year from the date of purchase against defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service Should your patio heater prove defective within one year from the date of purchase return the defective part or unit freight prepaid within two months of purchase after two months to one year customer will be responsible for freight cost to Whynter s service department along with an explanation to Whynter s service department Please ship the patio heater in its original packaging material to avoid damage in transit Please retain original box and packaging material Under this warranty Whynter will repair or replace any parts found defective This warranty is not transferable After the expiration of the warranty the cost of labor and parts will be the responsibility of the original owner of the unit THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER Acts of God such as strong wind damage fire flood hurricanes earthquakes and tornadoes Damage accidental or other wise to the patio heater while in the possession of a consumer not caused by a defect in material or workmanship Damage caused by consumer misuse tampering or failure to follow the care and special handling provisions in the i

If heater is to be stored indoors disconnect the propane cylinder for outdoor storage Caution Do not attempt to operate until you have read amp understand all General Safety Information in this manual and all assembly is complete amp leak checks have been performed Before Turning Gas Supply ON mM Your heater was designed and approved for outdoor use only Do NOT use it inside a building garage or any other enclosed area mM Make sure surrounding areas are free of combustible materials gasoline and other flammable vapors or Push and release the igniter button until pilot flame is visible through Viewing Hole Release Control Knob after 30 60 seconds Pilot Light will remain lit If not return to step 1 Turn Control Knob to ON Main Burner will light immediately Flame is visible through Viewing Hole If not return to step 1 liquids E Ensure that there is no obstruction to air ventilation E Be sure all gas connections are tight and there are no leaks mM Be sure the cylinder cover is clear of debris Mm Be sure any component removed during assembly or servicing is replaced and fastened prior to starting Before Lighting E Heater should be thoroughly inspected before each use and by a qualified service person at least annually E If relighting a hot heater always wait at least 5 minutes mM Inspect the hose assembly for evidence of excessive If for some reason your igniter f

6. ails to deliver a spark abrasion cuts or wear Suspected areas should be l your heater can be started by inserting a lit match leak tested If the hose leaks it must be replaced prior through the pilot view hole while pushing the control to operation Only use the replacement hose knob in while in the PILOT position assembly specified by manufacturer Sore Lighting Note This heater is equipped with a Pilot Light that allows for safer startups and shutdowns Pilot must be lit before Main Burner can be started 1 Turn Cylinder Valve ON 2 Open Viewing Hole by sliding cover to either side 3 Push Control Knob IN and rotate to Pilot position Note If pilot fails to remain lit all valves should be closed a etary ot ater any e a a pole and waiiting period of at least 5 minutes should pass before Control Knob IN for 2 minutes to purge air from gas lines attempting to light before proceeding If you experience any ignition problem please consult Troubleshooting on page 11 Caution Avoid inhaling fumes emitted from the heater s first use Smoke and odor from the burning of oils used in manufacturing will appear Both smoke and odor will dissipate after approximately 30 minutes The heater should NOT produce thick black smoke Note The burner may be noisy when initially turned on To eliminate excessive noise from the burner turn the Control Knob to the Pilot position Then turn the knob to

11. l is in OFF position Gas Tank valve is OFF Disconnect Gas line Heater is upright in a secure location Troubleshooting If the problem is Cylinder valve is closed Pilot won t light Air in gas line Heater operates at reduced efficiency below 40 F S C Igniter fails Dirt built up around pilot Pilot won t stay lit pilot assembly is loose Gas pressure is low Burner won t light Blockage in orifice Gas pressure is low Burner flame is low and tank is less than 1 4 full Control knob fully ON And this condition exists Blockage in orifice or pilot tube Connection between gas valve and Control knob is not in ON position Supply hose is bent or kinked Then do this Open valve Clean or replace orifice or pilot tube Open gas line and bleed it pressing control knob in for not more than 1 2 minutes or until you smell gas Low gas pressure with cylinder valve l l Turn cylinder valve OFF and replace cylinder Use match to light pilot obtain new igniter and replace Clean dirt from around pilot Tighten connection and perform leak check Thermocouple is not operating correctly Replace thermocouple Turn cylinder valve OFF and replace cylinder Clear blockage Turn control knob to ON Turn cylinder valve OFF and replace cylinder Outdoor temperature is less than 40 F l Use a full cylinder Straighten hose Check burner and orifi
