Before adjusting the carburetor make sure that the pro vided air fuel filters are clean and fresh and the fuel prop erly mixed When adjusting take the following steps EF Be sure to adjust the carburetor with the bar chain at tached US 11 GZ3500T N oo A H and L needles are restricted within the number of turns as shown below 1 4 1 4 H needle L needle Start the engine and allow it to warm up in low speed for a few minutes Turn the idle adjusting screw T counterclockwise so that the saw chain does not turn If the idling speed is too slow turn the screw clockwise Make a test cut and adjust the H needle for best cutting power not for maximum speed E CHAIN BRAKE The chain brake is a device which stops the chain in stantaneously if the chain saw recoils due to kickback Normally the brake is activated automatically by inertial force It can also be activated manually by pushing the brake lever left hand guard down toward the front When the brake operates a yellow cone pops up from the base of the brake lever Releasing the Brake Pull the brake lever up and back toward the left hand handle until it clicks into place 8 Sawing ALE e Before proceeding to your job read the section For Safe Operation It is recommended to first practice sawing small logs This also helps you get accustomed to your unit The chain saw must only be us

GUARD AGAINST KICKBACK e This saw is equipped with a chain brake that will stop the chain in the event of kickback if operating prop erly You must check the chain brake operation before each usage by run ning the saw at full the throttle for 2 seconds and pushing the front hand guard forward The chain should stop immediately with the engine at full speed If the chain is slow to stop or does not stop re place the brake band and clutch drum before use e Itis extremely important that the chain brake be checked for proper operation before each use and that the chain be sharp in order to main tain the kickback safety level of this saw Removal of the safety devices inadequate maintenance or incor rect replacement of the bar or chain may increase the risk ot serious per sonal injury due to kickback E FELLING A TREE Felling direction Notch cut 1D 2 Felling cut a e st 1 Decide the felling direction considering the wind lean of the tree location of heavy branches ease of completing the task after felling and other factors 2 While clearing the area around the tree arrange a good foothold and retreat path Make a notch cut one third of the way into the tree on the felling side Make a felling cut from the opposite side of the notch and at a level slightly higher than the bottom of the notch When you fell a tree be sure to warn neighboring work ers of the danger

12. should be emp tied When the chain saw is in storage make sure the appropriate guide bar scabbard is in place in order to pre vent accidental contact with the sharp chain Even a non moving chain can cause serious cuts to your self or persons you bump into with an exposed chain US 5 GZ3500T KICKBACK SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR CHAIN SAW USERS varna Kickback may occur when the nose or tip of the guide bar touches an object or when the wood closes in and pinches the saw chain in the cut Tip contact in some cases may cause a lightning fast reverse reaction kick ing the guide bar up and back to wards the operator Pinching the saw chain along the top of the guide bar may push the guide bar rapidly back towards the operator Either of these reactions may cause you to lose con trol of the saw which could result in serious personal injury Do not rely exclusively on the safety devices built into your saw As a chain saw user you should take several steps to keep cutting jobs free from accident or injury 1 With a basic understanding of kick back you can reduce or eliminate the element of surprise Sudden surprise contributes to accidents 2 Keep a good grip on the saw with both hands the right hand on the rear handle and the left hand on the front handle when the engine is running Use a firm grip with thumbs and fin gers encircling the chain saw handles A firm grip will help you re duce k

15. cient agitation is neces sary Be careful that if the agitation is insufficient there is an increased danger of early piston seizure due to abnor mally lean mixture Place a clear indication on the outside of the container to US 10 avoid mixing up with gasoline or other containers that dont contain oil Indicate the contents on outside of container for easy iden tification E FUELING THE UNIT 1 2 3 Untwist and remove the fuel cap Rest the cap on a clean surface Put fuel into the fuel tank to 80 of the full capacity Fasten the fuel cap securely and wipe up any fuel spillage around the unit 1 Select flat and bare ground for fueling Move at least 10 feet 3 meters away from the fueling point before starting the engine Stop the engine before refueling the unit At that time be sure to sufficiently agitate the mixed gasoline in the container E FOR YOUR ENGINE LIFE AVOID 1 2 FUEL WITH NO OIL RAW GASOLINE It will cause severe damage to the internal engine parts very quickly GASOHOL It can cause deterioration of rubber and or plastic parts and disruption of engine lubrication OIL FOR 4 CYCLE ENGINE USE It can cause spark plug fouling exhaust port blocking or piston ring sei zure Mixed fuels which have been left unused for a pe riod of one month or more may clog the carburetor and result in the engine failing to operate properly In the case of storing the product for a long perio

18. ed for cutting wood It is for bidden to cut other types of material Vibrations and kick back vary with different mate rials Do not use the chain saw as a lever for lifting moving or splitting objects Do not lock it over fixed stands It is forbid den to hitch tools or applica tions to the PTO other than those specified by the manu facturer US 12 When the brake operates release the throttle lever to slow down the engine speed Continuous opera tion with the brake engaged will generate heat from the clutch and may cause overheating or clutch fail ure At machine inspection prior to each job check the operating condition of the brake following these steps Start the engine and grasp the handle securely with both hands Pulling the throttle lever to maintain the chain opera tion push the brake lever left hand guard down toward the front using the back of your left hand When the brake operates and the chain is stopped release the throttle lever Release the brake Activate the brake E STOPPING THE ENGINE 1 2 Release the throttle lever to allow the engine to idle for a few minutes Set the switch to the O STOP position Switch It is not necessary to force the saw into the cut Ap ply only light pressure while running the engine at full throttle When the saw chain is caught in the cut do not attempt to pull it out by force but use a wedge or a lever to open the way m

32. y SS Screwdriver for carburetor adjustment Open the box and install the guide bar and the saw chain on the power unit as follows Awannine fi The saw chain has very sharp edges Use thick pro tective gloves for safety 1 Pull the hand guard towards the front handle to check that the chain brake is not engaged Loosen the nuts and remove the chain cover Mount the guide bar then fit the saw chain around the bar and sprocket Lax Chain tensioner nut Chain cover Pay attention to the correct direction of the saw chain Moving direction 4 Fit the chain tensioner nut into the lower hole of the guide bar then install the chain cover and fasten the mounting nut finger tight US 8 5 While holding up the tip of the bar adjust the chain tension by turning the tensioner screw until the tie straps of chain just touch the bottom side of the bar rail Tensioner screw Tighten the nuts securely with the bar tip held up 11 8 14 7 N m 120 150 kg cm Then check the chain for smooth rotation and proper tension while moving it by hand If necessary readjust with the chain cover loose 7 Tighten the tensioner screw A new chain will stretch in its length in the beginning of use Check and readjust the tension frequently as a loose chain can easily derail or cause rapid wear of itself and the guide bar 6 Fuel and Chain Oil FUEL Gasoline is very flammable Avoid smoki
